Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman’s body was found in the grounds of a primary school.
The body of a woman, thought to be in her early 20s, was discovered by a police officer at Harlescott Junior School in Shrewsbury just before midnight yesterday after concerns were raised for the safety of a local, West Mercia Police said.
Two men - one aged 32 and another 39 - and a 31-year-old woman are all being questioned by detectives over the death. Metro UK reports.
Pupils had been set to return to lessons today, following the Christmas holidays, but the school in Featherbed Lane is to remain shut while investigations continue.
A force spokesman said a detailed forensic examination of the scene was taking place, with officers hoping to have completed their work so the school can reopen on Wednesday.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course, and next of kin have been informed.
