<b>KANO, NIGERIA - The cold war between Kano State  governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has  degenerated to full blown hostility  following  the threat by the former to expose the latter’s stewardship in office.</b></div>

Ganduje, who went for broke when he hosted the leadership of Kano  students  abroad under the aegis of General Association of Northern Nigeria Students, based in Egypt, alleged the distortion   of the state scholarship programme.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The long-time Kwankwaso's political soul mate declared: </div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
For one year, Kwankwaso did not pay a single kobo as tuition fee for our students studying abroad. </blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
Right now, Kano State government owes those students ₦3 billion, and painfully, our revenue is dwindling and we would be cautious in handling the situation.</blockquote>

The new Kano strongman revealed that the delay in the payment of the tuitions fee was caused by the Kwankwaso administration, even  as he stressed: "For whatever reasons, the Kwankwaso  administration distorted the scholarship programme".</div>

The enraged governor told the leadership of the students: "I've decided to let the cat out of the bag so that, as educated people, you would understand where your problem lies".</div>

The Governor made this known when the team paid him a courtesy visit at Kano Government House on Sunday seeking his support, assuring further that APC leaders in the zone are behind him.</div>

Ganduje said: "I know the Southwest is solely behind you, the Northwest where the highest number of voters is, is behind you. I am telling you this from the bottom of my heart," stressing that "we need people like you and your colleagues because we are entering into an era with serious challenges and we need a very serious legislator as Speaker of the House in order to cope with the challenges ahead of us."</div>

He lamented that almost all the nation's institutions are collapsed and need surgery, stressing that there is need for experienced legislators to lead the lower chamber and work hand-in-hand with the Executive arm to put things back on the right track of progress.</div>

In another development, Dr. Ganduje has described the reception organized by Masalaha Development Association in honour of the State Deputy Governor, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, as an honour to the state government.</div>

Speaking during the reception held at Meena Conference Hall in Kano Municipal Area on Sunday, the governor said that Masalaha association has made a great contribution in transforming not only lives of their people but also their community. He thanked the former Military Governor of Anambra and Sokoto states in the 1990s, Group Captain Rufa'i Garba (rtd) for his foresight in forming the association.</div>
