<b>Dame Patience Jonathan, wife of outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan, has pledged to support Hajia Aisha Buhari, the wife of  the President-elect Muhammadu Buhari in any of her successor’s projects that will promote peace and women empowerment in the society.</b></div>

Mrs. Jonathan spoke at the inauguration of the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association Skills Acquisition Centre, in Abuja, on Thursday.</div>

She said: "I will make sure that I support my sister, the incoming First Lady, to make sure Nigerian women are safe".</div>

The President's wife said the President was able to complete his four-year tenure in office with ease because of the support he got from the military and security chiefs in the country.</div>

She said the security chiefs in the country were committed to democratic growth and were ready to sacrifice their lives for national unity and democracy.</div>

Mrs Jonathan, who commended the Service Chiefs and women association for their support for her husband, especially during the Boko Haram insurgency, urged them to sustain the patriotic efforts.</div>

She urged the women in the society to pray for the security chiefs to ensure that their efforts were successful.</div>
