And I had sworn that I would never talk about it, or even listen or stress myself about this thing but I have decided to do this now, so that I end this once and for all.   </div>

"First of all, let me paint a picture for you and you let me know what makes sense to you. When I looked up the word snatch or steal, ehh, let’s go to the dictionary. It means, forcefully taking something away from its original position. Forcefully. From its original position to another position. Something that does not belong to you. That’s what I gathered from the word snatch or steal.</div>

"So I looked at me, Stella, and I wondered to myself, how is it possible to go to somebody’s home, and take a man, and take his son, away from his home and say follow me. "So when you see a man who has settled ties with a woman and decides to move on with his life and you feel that there is something in this man that you like and he likes you. I am not a kid. I am 36 years old. I am not about to start hiding myself. I was waiting for somebody to actually ask me this question, because all I have heard for the past two, three years are rumours. They said, blogs said, this said. Nobody has been bold enough to confront me and ask me. So I say, if I steal something from somebody, and the person is really the owner of the thing, you come and ask me, ‘you took something from me, give me back’.</div>

"After my late husband’s death, I got married again and the marriage didn’t work. After eight (8) months, it crashed. People didn’t hear much about it, why? We were both mature to understand that we came together, we knew that the thing was not working, instead of us to become enemies we will remain friends, let’s just let it go quietly. And we let it go quietly. I didn’t blame anybody else for doing it, he didn’t blame anybody else for doing it. So I am wondering, two people come together they go their separate ways, this one meets somebody, all of a sudden, it is that somebody that is the problem. Did anybody ever ask, what went wrong? Why would a man pick up his son and walk away from his marriage?</div>

<b>A marathon meeting by the leaders of the All Progressives Congress ended in the early hours of Tuesday(today) without a consensus on the running mate for the party’s presidential candidate, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.</b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Unlike the national convention/ primary which produced Buhari on Thursday without much rancour, the meeting which started at about 10:30pm on Monday and ended at about 1:58am on Tuesday was said to have been characterised by intense horse-trading.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Different caucuses of the APC had started a series of meetings which culminated in a larger one that had all the party’s governors and leaders in attendance.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The National leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, did not attend the enlarged caucus meeting.</div>

Before the enlarged meeting which held at the Rivers State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, rose, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha had left.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
They did not return as of 12:50am when Buhari and some other participants, including seven governors, started filing out of the lodge.</div>

Although the reason for their action could not be ascertained, <i>The PUNCH</i> learnt that the National Working Committee of the party would ratify one of the shortlisted vice-presidential aspirants on Tuesday.</div>

The aspirants being considered are Governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo) and a former Lagos State Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Yemi Osibajo.</div>

Others whose names came up were former governors Dr. Kayode Fayemi (Ekit State), former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Osun State) and former governor Adeniyi Adebayo (Ekiti State)</div>

A seven-member committee headed by Chief Tony Momoh was set up to prune down the number of aspirants. It has representatives from each zone of the country.</div>

They include Chief Bisi Akande (South-West), Senator Chris Ngige (South-East), Senator Danjuma Goje (North-East), Chief Audu Ogbe (North-Central), Chief Sam Jaja (South-South) and Governor Yari Abubakar (North-West).</div>

The enlarged meeting will reconvene by 12pm today.</div>

The caucus arrived at two major decisions which included the rejection of Muslim-Muslim ticket.</div>

It was gathered that Abubakar, Okorocha, Kwankwaso and Nda-Isiah would lend their voices to the choice of the vice-presidential candidate. This would be followed up by input from Buhari.</div>

One of the governors, who attended the meeting said, “We are still meeting. It is not as easy as you see it. We are still meeting.”</div>

Another leader of the party also confirmed the stalemate, saying “We have not picked anybody yet.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

He explained that the NWC which would meet on Tuesday (today) was expected to “ratify whoever is picked if there’s a stalemate tonight(Monday). “</div>

Earlier on Monday, another top ranking member of the APC privy to the meeting said, “The meeting is going on now to draw up the general principles of (the) choice.</div>

“It has been agreed that no Muslim-Muslim ticket. The choice is also not restricted to the South-West; any zone in the South could produce our candidate’s running mate.”</div>

The APC chieftain said the governors and Tinubu, were engaged in serious calculations about the viability of aspirants being proposed.</div>

The meeting had in attendance, the party’s National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun; the National Secretary, Mai Malabuni; ex-Minister of the FCT, Nasir el-Rufai as well as Governors Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Oshiomhole (Edo) and Yari.</div>

<b>Those eager to get copies of <i>“My Watch”</i>, the three-volume memoirs of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, will have to wait for longer as the author has “confiscated” the printed copies until a court order is vacated. </b></div>

An Abuja high court had on December 5 issued an order that the book should not be published or promoted following a motion on notice filed by Kashamu Buruji, who complained that he was libelled in the publication. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

But Obasanjo went ahead with the public presentation and Justice Valentine Ashi, in ruling that the former head of state was guilty of contempt, directed the Inspector General of Police, Director-General of State Security Service and Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Services to confiscate the book. </div>

He also ordered that copies be seized from media houses, apparently to prevent the publication of excerpts. </div>

The security agencies, however, will not gain access to the copies as the former president now has them under lock and key. </div>

“Baba (Obasanjo) does not want any copy of the book confiscated by any government agency so he asked the publishers to hand them over to him,” a former minister and friend of the retired general told TheCable. </div>

Only those who got copies at the book presentation currently have the publication as many Nigerians are eager to read the memoirs. </div>

Izinyo argued that the defendant admitted in his motion papers that the book was published on November 10 and in another paragraph, it was also stated that the book was published on November 2. </div>

Ashi adjourned to January 13 and 14, 2015, for hearing of the substantive case.</div>

For allegedly being stubborn, 10-year-old Aliyu Rabiu, has been sent to his early grave by his father.</div>

The father, 43-year-old Rabiu Yusuf, a resident of Maina Maji in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, told journalists, on Monday, at the Bauchi State Police Command headquarters, in Bauchi, while being paraded alongside other suspects by the police, that he tortured the boy to death due to his stubbornness.</div>

Yusuf, who said he never knew his action would lead to the boy’s death, stated that he got infuriated with the deceased, following his running away from his house to stay with his mother, who he had divorced.</div>

According to him, he had severally instructed the boy to return home but he refused, saying he had to go and take him home and chained him inside a room so that he would not run away.</div>

“Trouble started when I divorced his mother and married another wife. My son, Aliyu, followed his mother to her new home and I was not in support of the arrangement.</div>

“I called Aliyu several times to come back home because I want him to be in my custody as his father, but he refused, so I went to the mother’s home in annoyance and brought him back home.</div>

“When I brought him back to my house, I chained him and locked him up inside the room, so that he did not escape and go back to his mother, but unfortunately he died,” Yusuf said.</div>

Addressing journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state police command, Haruna Mohammed, informed that Yusuf conspired with one Ismail Idris to kill the deceased.</div>

According to the police spokesman, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Yusuf chained and detained the boy for a period of 10 days, but he later fell sick as a result of the ill-treatment meted to him by his father. He added that the boy was taken to Rimi Clinic in Bauchi, where he died while receiving treatment.</div>

Meanwhile, DSP Mohammed informed that the police arrested one Sale Kawu and Abubakar Abdullahi , both residents of Kafin Yarima village in Bauchi LGA, who criminally conspired and deceived one Mohammed Sani of Kusi village and obtained the sum of N395,000 from him, under false pretence that they would make him rich.</div>

The PPRO added that the suspects gave their victim “a carton containing some dried groundnut leaves and sand, well wrapped with cloths and deceived him that it contained millions of Naira, warning him not to disclose it to anybody.”</div>

He informed that the sum of $1000 suspected to be fake, 18 pieces $100 and 126 cut to size paper, were recovered from the house of the suspects upon a search by police.</div>

Delivering ruling in the suit number FHC/IB/CS/54/2014 on Monday, Justice Ayo Emmanuel said he was granting the prayers of the applicants since the respondents did not challenge the contents of a 17-paragraph affidavit filed by the applicants in support of their motion.</div>

Justice Emmanuel said, “Pursuant to order 34 rules 3(4) of the Federal High Court rules and under the inherent jurisdiction of this honourable court, the prayers are hereby granted.”</div>
