<b>In her long and ever more remarkable career, Serena Williams has won all the major tournaments at least three times. She has won Olympic gold in singles and doubles. She has won WTA Tour events large and small.</b></div>

But what she has not yet managed is a Grand Slam: winning the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon Open and the United States Open in the same calendar year.</div>

Williams's 6-4, 6-4 victory over Garbiñe Muguruza of Spain in the final here on Saturday gave Williams her sixth Wimbledon singles title and her fourth straight major singles title - the so-called #SerenaSlam. But it also gave her the first three legs of the Grand Slam, the true Slam, which could make this year's United States Open quite an occasion.</div>

Despite the straightforward score line, the opportunity did not come easily. Muguruza, playing in her first Grand Slam final at age 21, displayed few signs of nerves and plenty of purpose in the opening phase of the match and took a 4-2 lead before Williams turned the momentum in her favor. Williams double faulted three times in the opening game and lost her rhythm again while serving for the title at 5-1 in the second set.</div>

With the Centre Court crowd giving Muguruza plenty of positive reinforcement, she surprisingly broke Williams's serve twice in a row, saving a match point and getting back on serve to 5-4.</div>

But the rally (and the rallies) would end there as Muguruza lost her serve at love, missing a forehand wide on Williams's second match point.</div>

It was unclear initially whether Muguruza would challenge the call, but the ball was clearly out. No challenge came, and the chair umpire Alison Hughes haltingly pronounced the words: "Game, set and match, Miss Williams."</div>

Williams, delayed reaction or not, was soon leaping on the grass and celebrating. Muguruza was in tears sitting on her chair.</div>

"Don't be sad," Williams told her at the trophy ceremony. "You'll be holding this trophy very, very soon. Believe me."</div>

Only three women have completed the Grand Slam: Maureen Connolly in 1953, Margaret Court in 1970 and Steffi Graf in 1988.</div>

"It's probably the only thing she hasn't done yet," said Patrick Mouratoglou, Williams's coach.</div>

This latest triumph broke the family tie with her older sister Venus, who has won five times at the All England Club and watched from the players box on Saturday.</div>

This was also Serena's 21st Grand Slam singles title, putting her just one behind Graf, whose 22 are the best of the Open era, and just three behind Court, an attacking Australian who won 24.</div>

Serena won her first in 1999 at the United States Open, fighting her way through a draw of her elders to create quite a surprise.</div>

Saturday's victory against a talented and big-hitting opponent from the next generation made Williams the oldest woman to win a Grand Slam singles title in the Open era, less than a month older than Martina Navratilova was when she won Wimbledon in 1990.</div>

Navratilova was watching from the Royal Box on Saturday, as were former players who once competed with Williams, including Marion Bartoli, the surprise 2013 champion.</div>

<b>ABUJA, NIGERIA - As the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) gets set to appoint a chairman for its Board of Trustees (BoT), a group with ties to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on the leadership of the party to appoint the former VP into the position.</b></div>

APC is set to appoint the BoT Chair at a meeting slated for July 20 in Abuja and feelers from the party secretariat shows that the race to the chairmanship position is largely between Atiku and a former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the party.</div>

Adamawa Think Tank, comprising of politicians and professionals from Adamawa State, Saturday, said Atiku is the best bet because according to them, "he fits the office".</div>

The chairman of the group, Danladi Danasabe, who spoke to <b><a href="http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/186486-apc-board-of-trustees-group-roots-for-atiku.html">PREMIUM TIMES</a></b> over the telephone said "the party at present is enmeshed in crisis following the election of new leaders for the national assembly and what we need is a person with experience in handling such issues to come on board and take us back on track".</div>

He also said it would be wrong to "even consider Tinubu, because he is part of the problem".</div>

He added although the former Lagos Governor made tremendous sacrifice leading to the success of the APC, he said, his "brand of politics and approach to issues may lead to a serious crash".</div>

<b>KADUNA, NIGERIA - For the immediate past Kaduna Diocesan Bishop of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, the Most Rev. Josiah Atkins Idowu-Fearon, the time of glory has come having just been appointed Secretary General of the Anglican Communion Worldwide, with headquarters at Lambeth, United Kingdom.</b></div>

The position makes him the second in command after the Archbishop of Canterbury. Breaking a record as the first African to hold the position, Idowu-Fearon has had a number of other high profile albeit controversial achievements in his over half a century of dedicated service to the development of the Anglican Church not only in Nigeria but also across the world. He is expected to serve for an initial renewable period of seven years.</div>

When at the height of the Kaduna religious riots of 2000, Idowu-Fearon, against all odds, established a centre for the study of Islam in his Kaduna Diocese, a cross section of his flock virtually demanded for his head, calling him all manner of names including that of a Muslim Bishop, infiltrating the Church of Christ.</div>

That name tag has tended to accompany the Bishop over these years for a man who actually speaks Arabic apart from holding a Master’s Degree in Islamic Theology.</div>

The valedictory lecture and send-forth ceremony for Idowu-Fearon and his wife, Amina, which held Saturday at the Jakaranda Farms, on the outskirts of Kaduna metropolis, attracted a number of dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria, Muslims and Christians alike.</div>

Kaduna state Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i was there, along with former Governor Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, Taraba state Governor, Dairus Ishaku, a former Military Governor of Edo state, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, and a former Minister of Defence, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma, among several others.</div>

<b>The Cleric-Scholar and Passion for Islam</b></div>

Born on January 17, 1949 at Gerinye in Kogi state, Idowu-Fearon said he formally embraced the Christian religion in 1964. Originally enrolled in military school to train as a soldier, the passion to be a priest apparently overwhelmed all other aspirations and as Idowu-Fearon explained during his valedictory speech.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
“In my fourth year, it had become very clear that the Lord was calling me to be a soldier in His Army, to the extent that in spite of a direct entry to the Nigerian Defence Academy, I was given a sympathetic discharge by the late Gen. Hassan Katsina, in Lagos.” The development, according to him, “turned out to be the channel through which the Lord saved me.”</div>

Several years later and in the course of his pastoral training across many institutions, Idowu-Fearon said he developed a special interest for Islam, more so, at a time in Nigeria when the religious harmony that hitherto existed between Christian and Muslim communities went sour.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
At the Immanuel College, Ibadan, Idowu-Fearon said he met a certain Dr. Stadey who introduced him to what he described as the world of Islam, and, as he put it, “my interest was aroused, I pleaded with the Lord for a scholarship to do some further studies in Islam and I felt the need to carefully study how the Koran presents the nature of Jesus Christ.” The quest later led to Idowu-Fearon’s Master’s Degree programme in, Islam and Muslim-Christian Relations, at Birmingham University.</div>

From then on, he delved further into Islam and also studied the Arabic language in the process, at the University of Jordan, Amman, and, eventually turning the Bishop into a visiting Islamic lecturer and Faculty member at both the Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, Canada, and at the Canterbury International Centre, United Kingdom.</div>

Back home in Nigeria and applying his various trainings to his primary assignment as Bishop in Kaduna and Sokoto, Idowu-Fearon ran into muddy waters as a number of his flock apparently could not explain how and why a Bishop can be “so close to Islam and Muslims.” This is aside the fact that the Nigerian Anglican community also has its fair share of divisions pertaining to certain ideologies in the Christian religion and Anglicanism in particular.</div>

Perhaps,   Voltaire’s philosophy may apply to Idowu-Fearon as it is dangerous to be right in matters on which the established authorities are wrong. As a Theology student and researcher, Idowu-Fearon is quite familiar with the concepts of     Monophyisitism and Nestorianism, a twin Christology position that insists that Christ has only one nature as opposed to the traditional belief that Christ has two natures, one divine and the other human.</div>

Moreover, as a self-confessed disciple of Richard Hooker who is believed to have laid the theological foundation for understanding of the church for Anglicans, Idowu-Fearon says he shares the concepts of the mystical church which is invisible and the visible church. For him, membership of the visible church is determined, among other things, the profession of the Lord Jesus Christ while only God knows those who belong or may eventually be part of the mystical church.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Whatever the arguments, for Idowu-Fearon, “in order to create and promote a culture of respect for differences within our Communion, I encourage our bishops in this part of the Communion to cultivate the habit of understanding other positions other than their own. Our bishops in Nigeria within their diocese should promote robust debates between the lay and ordained members and such will get the bishop well-informed.”</div>

<b>Blackmail, Mischief, in God’s Name</b></div>

After his consecration in 1990 and given what he describes as his exposure and experiences which were compounded by his “undue” knowledge of Islam, Idowu-Fearon said his colleagues, fellow bishops, did everything possible to frustrate him in the course of his service. According to him, “my being elected as Bishop of Sokoto was seen by some in the then House of Bishops   as a way of humbling me but God used our time in Sokoto to expose us to the international community.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
And, when Kaduna Diocese was going to be vacant, efforts were made to send me to be bishop in Cyprus and the Gulf; this was to get me out of the country. The form was filled and my signature forged without my knowledge. In Cyprus for an interfaith meeting, the Lord revealed it to me through Australian missionaries who volunteered to host me for the conference and the plot was confirmed by the then Secretary General of the Anglican Communion.</div>

After my first five years as the first ecclesiastical Archbishop of Kaduna province, again, the powers that be felt that I was too close to the then Archbishop of Canterbury and the Communion at large, that I was promoting Western relativism and that I was going to sell the province of Nigeria to the West. Two bishops were specially commissioned to sell me as a convert to Islam and that Fearon is a Muslim, drinking tea with the Sultan and that Fearon was promoting homosexuality in Nigeria.”</div>

<b>The Road to Lambeth</b></div>

Idowu-Fearon’s journey to Lambeth as Secretary General at the Canterbury did not come on a platter of gold. Although he applied for the position, along with 31 others from various countries, Idowu-Fearon believes that God made it possible for him to use his undergraduate and graduate studies in the United Kingdom to make contacts that ultimately laid the foundation for his nomination after beating three other candidates who made the shortlist.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
According to him, in the years after 1990, opportunities started to open up for him in Britain and the United States of America during which he served on various commissions within the Anglican Communion. Idowu-Fearon was a founding member of the Canterbury’s Compass Rose Council, a foundation member and one of the first three presidents of the Network for Interfaith Concerns.</div>

He was also member of the 13-man committee of the Archbishop of Canterbury that looked into the responses to Lambeth Resolution 1; 10 of 1998 as well as member of the committee that produced the Windsor Commission Report of 2003. According to Idowu-Fearon, “as I was thinking and praying about taking an early retirement in order to spend the rest of my active life to build an army of well-informed and articulate Christian leaders to constructively engage their Muslim neighbours and build a culture of respect and peaceful co-existence, the Lord opened a new world of service to me.”</div>

Coming from the north, do you have some members of your family who are Muslims? Yes, I have some distant members of the family who are Muslims and as a young man, some people tried to initiate me into certain things, some of them fetish, without the knowledge of my mother but I came to Christ at the Nigerian Military School, Zaria in my second year in 1964 and since then, I decided to rely on Jesus Christ alone and no other.</div>

I once saw you clutching Dan Bown's <i>Davinci Code</i>. Some people believe that the book is a direct attack on the Church of Christ. Do you hold that view too?</div>

The book is an attack on the church because Davinci is totally against the fact that Jesus Christ lived and died as we read it in the Bible. That book must have been inspired by the Devil and it is coming direct from the pit of Hell, against the Gospel. And, that is why I consider this fighting within the church as a waste of time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Instead, we should come together and be aware of the fact that secularism has become a religion and it is very strong and some of the promoters control most of the media. Christians ought to come together, forget whether we are Roman Catholic, Pentecostal and all others who worship God, the Christian way and join hands with the Muslims who are also fighting secularism. That is my mission.</div>

Do you not think that some of the issues you raised in your valedictory speech may actually be responsible for certain disagreements you have with some of your colleagues. Issues as, the visible and invisible church and the concepts of Monophysitism and similar high-sounding words which may not make meanings to an ordinary member of the church?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
You see, in the Anglican understanding and Roman Catholics also have similar understanding too and that is why the Roman Catholic is one church. But the Anglican Church is a group of churches, 38 different churches coming together and that is why it is a communion. We don’t have a centralized government or authority like the Pope, for the Catholic Church.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
That is the problem the Anglican Church is facing. When we talk about the invisible church, it means Heaven and only God decides who goes there and you do not need to discipline anybody. From the Bible, we believe that whoever believes in Jesus Christ and takes him as the Lord and Saviour and you are baptised, that person is a Christian and belongs to the visible church.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
In this visible church, you also have liars, thieves, you have adulterers, cheats and you cannot disown them and say that they are not members of the church because all they need is a confession to believing in Jesus Christ as Saviour. The Bishops and other priests are there to guide the visible church and teach them what the Bible says.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
But irrespective of going against certain injunctions, you do not have the right to say that they are not members of the visible church. If for example somebody is a serial adulterer, you can suspend him from the church for a while, to correct him or her. In the invisible church, you do not need bishops or priests because God alone decides who become members. But we need the visible church to remind us of the invisible church because in the final analysis, everybody wants to be in the invisible church.</div>

On the issue of Monophysitism, I did not want to go further because if I did, some people would throw stones at me but there are some Christians who still believe in Monophysitism. Members of the Coptic Church are Monophysites, they believe in one nature of Christ. But the orthodox position is two natures of Christ, the human and divine, not conjoined. In other words, Jesus is 100 per cent divine and 100 per cent human but only God knows how it is like that. Anglicans, Catholics, Presbyterians, we believe in the two natures of Christ.</div>

Is the controversial Centre for Islamic Studies which you established in the Diocese likely to survive your exit?</div>

Yes. In fact, I signed a contract this morning (Monday), recruiting two Muslims and two Christians who have Masters Degrees in Islamic Studies, to teach at the centre and I will be paying them from my pocket. They will continue to run the certificate and diploma programmes there. So, the centre will continue and we are going to use the lower part of the new house being built and I am putting up a full library there and the chapel will serve as classrooms until I retire.</div>

<b>LAGOS, NIGERIA - Bankole Adeniyi, 19, will not forget Saturday, March, 14, 2015 in a hurry and it has nothing to do with being his uncle's birthday. It marked his first experience on an escalator courtesy of his joyous uncle who took Adeniyi and a couple of friends to Ikeja City Mall in Lagos, in his celebrative mood.</b></div>

Incidentally, it was also Adeniyi's first time at the mall.</div>

Adeniyi was instantly greeted by cool air from the mall's air-conditioners and he realised it was a pleasant alternative to the bustling hot markets he was used to. The fashion stores, global brands, luxury goods on display and the hundreds of shoppers milling about all contributed to offer Adeniyi a thrilling experience, but they didn't come close to the excitement offered by the restive escalator at the shopping centre.</div>

Being a movie lover, Adeniyi, a resident of Ajuwon in Ogun State, had seen escalators hundreds of times on television, but none of the screen images compared to seeing one live before him. As the escalator moved up and down, offering an open invitation to shoppers, Adeniyi's excitement was however, replaced by fear- the new challenge of using an escalator for the first time.</div>

'I was initially excited but I have to confess that I got scared later on because I had not used an escalator before," the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu student, said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

"But my uncle helped me out by explaining to me to target the steps as they come out and step on one of them. This was how I managed to get on the escalator and it was a smooth ride after that. Since that time, anytime I come to the mall, I make sure I take the escalator."</div>

And of course, he never forgot to update his profile pictures on his social media accounts each time he had a new one of himself on the escalator to show the world.</div>

An escalator may be a set of moving staircase meant for moving people between floors of a building, at the Ikeja City Mall, its use is not that simple. It is fast becoming a tourist attraction, strongly competing with shops and other services for attention of visitors.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>200 Tourists on Busy Days</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Flashes and sounds of camera snapshots are a familiar occurrence around the escalator. It is common to see visitors snapping themselves, friends and other loved ones with their mobile telephones and other gadgets. But to make things easier, a bunch of photographers have strategically placed themselves at the two ends of the escalator, with cameras in hand.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
An instant picture on the escalator costs ₦500 each for those who want theirs taken by the photographers- the only authorised commercial photographers at the mall.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the photographers, who did not give his name because he was not authorised by his employer to speak on the issue, said on busy days, each of them gets between 20 and 40 'tourists' who want their pictures taken on the escalator.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Considering the average number of photographers at the escalator, which is five, between 100 and 200 'tourists' would be paying for pictures at the mall on such days. This is aside other 'tourists' who take pictures with the cameras and mobile telephones.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Findings by <b><a href="http://www.punchng.com/feature/super-saturday-feature/amazing-lagos-escalator-attracts-tourists-in-hundreds/">Saturday PUNCH</a></b> show that busiest days at the mall are weekends and public holidays with the prime time falling between 2pm and 4pm.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our correspondent took some time to observe as 'tourists' posed for photographs individually and in groups while riding on the escalator. The photographers took pictures of the 'tourists' from up and down the escalator, capturing them in motion while ascending or descending the moving staircase. Those who were not pleased with the pictures taken rejoined the escalator for as many times as necessary to get them the right picture effect they desired.</div>

Crowd milled around the escalator, with youths and family members gaily teasing one another and laughing about their experience on the device.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Some visitors to the mall, who spoke to our correspondent, described the trend as a reflection of Nigerians' thirst for good infrastructure. In Lagos, the only major public centres with escalators are Ikeja City Mall; City Mall, Onikan; Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island; and the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja, otherwise known as MM2.</div>

Like Adeniyi, Opeyemi Ozain, a barber, enjoys taking the escalator.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
His first time on it was even more dramatic as he did not have anyone with him to offer a word of advice on how to use the moving staircase.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"It's unique and different from the lift (elevator) or the normal staircase I was used to, so I was afraid to use it the first time," Ozain said with a sheepish smile.</div>

I was afraid because I didn't want to embarrass myself. So as a guy, I stood by and watched as people got on it. After watching how people went about getting on the escalator for a while, I realised that I had to get it right by stepping on steps and not in-between. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once I was able to get on the escalator, I was worried again about how to get off because that is another issue. Getting on it is one thing, getting off is another one. </div>
</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One has to know how to get off because it also involves understanding what to do. I realised that I needed to put a foot on the solid ground as the moving steps I was standing on were about to slide under.</div>
</blockquote>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ozain explained that the sight of a moving staircase was more exciting than that of a still one, while sympathising with others like him who are enthralled by escalators.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
It makes taking a staircase more interesting which is why many people want to get on it and experience it. </div>
</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've seen different kinds of people here- rich, poor, old, young including students. It doesn't matter who they are, if it's their first time of using it, you will see the excitement or the fear on their faces. But once you have taken it before, you find it really nice to use and will prefer it to a normal staircase.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Similarly, when Daniel Osaremen and his family recently visited the mall on a Sunday, they stopped to take a few pictures on the escalator, which Osaremen adjudged to be some of the best they have taken as a family.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

He said the picture gave the impression that it was taken in an advanced city abroad like "Dubai, London or Paris."</div>

"It was my daughter that insisted on taking the escalator and we all joined her," he said with a smile.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"The experience was nice and the pictures we took on it were very beautiful. In fact, if we don't tell you that the pictures were taken in Ikeja, you would think they were taken in more advanced countries. We all love the pictures including my wife and we have agreed to take more pictures on the escalator when next we visit the mall."</div>

<b>'Some First Timers Stumble'</b></div>

Interestingly, some security guards at the mall have also noticed how many visitors have taken a liking to the escalator. They told our correspondent that they often sight adult 'tourists' going up and down the escalator continuously.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of them who did not give his name because he was not authorised to speak to journalists said: </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
When some people come, they love the experience, the<i> 'Jangirofa experience'</i> (an experience of moving up and down). </div>
</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Since we are the ones standing around here, we are able to observe everything going on that other shoppers won’t take notice of. Some people are here because of the escalator; sometimes we see people going up and down the escalator up to four times repeatedly. I easily know that such persons enjoy using the escalator for fun.</div>
</blockquote>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also, when people stumble, or trip while using the escalator, which often happens, the security guards take notice. From experience, they have also learnt to identify first time users of the escalator just by their dispositions.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

"Several times, I have seen people trip as they are about to get on the escalator," one of them told <i>Saturday PUNCH,</i> adding that such unlucky persons are always saved by the silver-coloured rails on both sides of the escalator.</div>

So I have never seen anyone fall flat on the escalator but I have seen people stumble on it on many occasions. People trip everyday but I've not seen anyone who got injured as a result of that yet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When we see someone hesitating for too long before using the escalator, we know it's most likely his first time. Usually, they hesitate because they are not sure of how to get on it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You see such people jumping on the escalator and jumping off at the other end. The ones who slip on it usually don't know the steps come one after another. It is easy to use but some don't know how.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ironically, the security guard confessed during the course of the conversation with our correspondent that his first time on the escalator was also not pleasant.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

"I slipped the first time I took an escalator too, which was here, but it was nothing serious because I quickly got hold of the rails," he said, adding that he has had to encourage some apprehensive first timers to find the courage to use the escalator.</div>

However, there is another category of visitors who avoid using escalator at the mall.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the guards who recalled his recent experience with a woman suspected to be in her late 20s, said the shopper opted for the use of the staircase even though the escalator offered an option of a shorter route to the shop she was going.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"She stood by the escalator for a while and then decided against taking it," the guard said, recalling his interaction with the shopper.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
When I asked her where she was going, I realised that the shop she was going was where the escalator would take her. But she insisted that she would rather go back to take the staircase which was a longer route, which she did. </div>
</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The lady said she was scared. I tried to encourage her but she refused to budge. Nigerians don't like to embarrass themselves; maybe she wanted to avoid a situation that would embarrass her.</div>
</blockquote>

<b>'I Like Staircase Better'</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

For Osagie Okpame, a businessman, there have been mixed feelings about the escalator.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although, his first time on an escalator was also filled with some apprehension while his children loved nothing more than going up and down the device, he did not see it as worthy of being a tourist attraction.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
If anything, Okpame would rather stick to the use of a staircase than an escalator for health benefits.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He described staircases as better than escalators, saying using staircases is a form of exercise.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"My kids like going up and down the escalator but I don't see any big deal in it," he said.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
It shouldn't attract so much attention. Sometimes, I would want us to take the staircase, but it's my kids that would insist that we take the escalator. </div>
</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They would refuse to take the staircase. The first time I took an escalator, I was a bit scared because I didn't quite know how to get on it. But now, I can use the escalator with my eyes closed. </div>
</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, I still think that a staircase is better than an escalator because the staircase makes us do some exercise. By using the staircase often, we are able to keep fit and improve our breathing. But using the escalator makes many of us lazy because most people would prefer it to using the staircase, and it does not get us to do anything.</div>
</blockquote>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But it is unclear if the management of the mall is worried about the trend.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

An official of Broll Nigeria, the company managing the mall, told our correspondent to direct his enquiries to an email address belonging to Eniola Ositelu, said to be in charge of dealing with the media. But he did not respond to the mail or acknowledge receiving it.</div>

Ositelu, who later spoke to our correspondent on the telephone after repeated efforts to reach him, however, promised to respond to the mail sent to him.</div>

But he failed to do that as of the time of filing this report.</div>

<b>ABEOKUTA, NIGERIA - Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that his eldest daughter, Dr Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, told him he was going to die in office.</b></div>

The former President also said his daughter said if that should happen, she would not weep for him.</div>

The former President said he, nevertheless, replied his daughter that such would not mean anything to him since he would not be there to appreciate it.</div>

Obasanjo, who said this in his controversial book, <b>MY WATCH</b>, said that was Iyabo's submission when he informed her and three of his other children about his desire to contest the 1999 Presidential election.</div>

The meeting with the four children, which he said came after he had consulted almost all those that mattered before joining the presidential race, was held in New York.</div>

He said it was ironic that Iyabo became a senator during his tenure.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Meanwhile, before being elected a senator, Iyabo was appointed a commissioner by Otunba Gbenga Daniel, while he was serving as governor of Ogun State.</div>

Obasanjo said:</div>

My mind was almost made up (to vie for the position of President) but I had to consult with my children. I got four of them together in New York. </div>

</blockquote>

</blockquote>

I told her 'if I die and you weep, it is for yourself and others, not for me as I will not know you are weeping.' </div>
</blockquote>

It is ironic that within 10 years, Iyabo became a Senator and I completed two terms of eight years without a scratch.</div>
</blockquote>

The former President added that out of the four children in attendance when he spoke with them, it was only Segun who he said, had a few words of encouragement.</div>

The son, according to Obasanjo, said: "Daddy, you have always said that we must serve God and humanity and if this is the way you have chosen to serve God and humanity, I will pray for you."</div>

With those words from his son coupled with the words of encouragement he said he got from those he had spoken with earlier, the Owu-born retired general said "the die was almost cast".</div>

In the book, Obasanjo also mentioned the names of his 21 children. He was however silent on the number of his wives or the mothers of the children.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The children are Iyabo (PhD), who is the eldest; Busola, Segun(PhD), Gbenga(PhD), Deboye, Muyiwa, Funke, Bola (PhD) and Seun (PhD).</div>

Also listed were Dare, Kofo, Dayo, Biyi, Bisoye, Damilola, Jonwo, Bunmi, Funso, Dayo, Toyosi and Bukola.</div>

The listing and mentioning of the names of his children was the first time the two-time President of Nigeria, would publicly talk about his children.</div>

A couple of days ago, two videos of Yetunde Bustline emerged on YouTube where she was seen heartbroken and crying profusely. Her remarks in the first video were directed at Baba Tee while she uttered no word in the second video but crying. <b><a href="http://nigerianewsroom.blogspot.com/2015/07/video-yetunde-bustline-breaks-down-in.html">TNN merged the two videos which we published here</a></b>.</div>

Hours after the videos had gone viral on the internet, the estranged ex-lover, <b><a href="http://nigerianewsroom.blogspot.com/2015/07/with-my-small-manhood-i-dated-you-for-4.html">Tunde Bernard granted an interview where he alleged that Yetunde was stalking him and begging him to marry her</a></b>. In what seems to be a response to a likely remark by Yetunde (not in the video), Baba Tee said despite Yetunde's complaint of him having a small dick, he was able to stay in the relationship that collapsed in November 2014 for 4 years.</div>

Expectedly, in the evening of July 9, 2015, Yetunde Bustline shared the real story of the leaked videos on her Facebook wall. In her Facebook post, she alleged that the videos were not recently recorded as people have been made to believe. She said the videos were recorded weeks after she parted ways with Baba Tee sometimes around December 2014. Bustline denied ever uploading such videos on YouTube as doing such would be so stupid of her. <b><a href="http://nigerianewsroom.blogspot.com/2015/07/baba-tee-uploaded-old-private-video.html">She pointed an accusing finger at her estranged ex</a></b> whom she claimed was the only person she sent the video clips to sometimes between December 2014 and January 2015.</div>

It has come to my attention that videos and newsreels which feature myself; Yetunde Oduwole have gone into unauthorised distribution with several blogs and media houses.</div>

Firstly I would like to apologise to my friends, family and esteemed colleagues and clients for any inconvenience this may have caused and indeed any discomfort. </div>

In clarification, the videos in question were not released by myself or my staff and were only shared with one other person in the past in a personal way.  It is likely that the videos have been obtained unlawfully or that they were released by Mr Bernard who was the only person who it was sent to.  It was not sent to him via social media, nor was it distributed to any media platform.</div>

The videos were not as alleged published on my social media accounts neither have I invited a worldwide audience to share in my personal moment. I have not released or authorised the release of these videos on YouTube, Vimeo, Vevo and on any blog platform server anywhere. </div>

The commentaries/stories run alongside the videos were not released by myself or my publicist neither are they truthful or accurate.  The news contained therein has caused distress to my family and friends and has also affected my business dealings.</div>

I am appalled that several media houses who have on occasion in the past had dealings with me have assumed that distribution of this information was of such importance to boosting their online presence that they decided to publish it each seemingly making up their own explanation for the video as they went along. </div>

Journalism may have evolved over time, however in this case there are no arguments to support the pattern or manner of release of this information.  The information and news had nothing to do with public interest and the release was clearly propelled by malicious intent and indiscretion on the part of media houses.</div>

At Bustline Media it is business as usual, the video and its content do not require explanation beyond my stating that this incident took place almost a year ago and I have moved on. </div>
