With less than four months to the 2015 general election, former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has warned against a Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian ticket for elective positions, saying the idea might pose a danger to the country.</div>

In a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun State southwest Nigeria, Obasanjo said the country, at this stage in history, should not raise the spectre and fear of Islamisation or Christianisation.</div>

According to Obasanjo, sensitivity is a necessary ingredient for enhancement of peace, security and stability at this point in the political discourse and arrangement for Nigeria and for encouraging confidence and trust.</div>

The former President said Nigeria cannot at this stage raise the spectre and fear of Islamisation or Christianisation. This sad event happened at Ojegbe Amike Ugbodo community of Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital in southeast Nigeria.</div>

This weird news made headlines last week in all major international dailies. According to the reports I monitored on UK's <a href="http://www.mirror.co.uk/"><i>Daily Mirror</i></a> and the <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/"><i>Huffington Post</i></a>, a 47-year old man Jonnie Boggess from Miami in Cabin Creek, Florida was arrested by Kanawha County State Troopers after a tip-off by an animal rights group that he was having sex with his dog, a beagle mix, he named Piglet.<br />

It was reported that an animal organisation had received information the dog was being sexually abused, prompting them to contact the authorities. However, Boggess defended the illegal act, arguing it was 'okay' because <i>"Piglet was more than 40lbs and had been spayed"</i>, adding that they had had <i>"gentle sexual intercourse"</i> according to Sgt Larry O'Bryan of the West Virginia State Police.</div>

In his report, N M Manolakos, a Kanawha County State Trooper wrote that:<br />

When asked if Boggess was mentally stable, O'Bryan said: "He seemed cognizant."<br />

Hehehehe!!! If not for the animal rights group, this animal in human skin as the legendary Fela Anikulapo-Kuti would have called him could have continued having "gentle sexual intercourse" with a lower animal? The end is fast approaching! And, I read Boggess is awaiting sentence. If you were to hand down a sentence for this act in Africa, how many decades (because I know it won't be just years) will you send him to spend behind bars?<br />

The gist as I read it on <a href="http://www.express.co.uk/news/weird/523097/Cockerel-Given-ASBO-Crowing">Daily Express</a> is that William, a pet cockerel owned by an octogenarian Mr. Philip Sutcliffe and his wife Caroline, was reported to local authorities by an anonymous neighbor who complained that the cockerel's early morning crows disturb. The couple keep the bird with a small number of other chickens on a farmland next to their home.</div>

However, authorities of the Derbyshire Dales District Council were prompted to launch an investigation in which the bird's cock-a-doodle-doos were monitored after receiving a complaint from a grumpy neighbor. As the deadline to silence William was approaching and the couple unable to decide what to do, some kind-heart residents launched a petition to save William insisting he's not a nuisance.</div>
