<b>Dominique Lesbirel married Doerack, the aforementioned cat, eight years ago but aged 19 and suffering kidney failure he had to be put down.</b></div>

But the 41-year-old has found love with her dog, Travis, and hopes they will get married one day.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's still too soon to marry just yet, she said, but one day she will hold a ceremony to wed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dominique actually got ordained online and carries out weddings for other people with their pets. But there are rules, of course.</div>

"I'm happy to conduct same sex marriages, or to let people marry more than one pet. I only marry domestic animals, though. In some parts of the world, you hear of people keeping lions and tigers as pets - I wouldn't marry people to them.</div>

"I also need to be sure they truly love and respect their pet."</div>

Of course, she's attracted some criticism for what she does and has received death threats:</div>

"I had people emailing me telling me I was cruel," she said. "They said I was basically promoting animal cruelty. Some were horrified and thought I was condoning bestiality, which was awful and certainly not the case.</div>

"I would never condone such terrible acts of cruelty to animals. My site is all about making a commitment to pets to show your dedication to them and promise that you will always look after them."</div>

She added: "We'd be lost without those happy little faces at our windows, so I'll do anything I can to remind people to treat animals with love, kindness and respect.</div>

<b>MAPUTO, MALAWI - A Malawian traditional leader has taken it upon herself to discourage the prevalence of child marriages within her constituency.</b></div>

Senior Chief Inkosi Kachindamoto annulled over 300 marriages, thereby applying the country's new laws regarding child marriage. In April, President Peter Mutharika signed into a law <a href="http://thisisafrica.me/malawi-bans-child-marriages/">a ban on child marriage</a>, setting the minimum age requirement for marriage in the country at 18.</div>

I have terminated 330 marriages of which 175 were girl-wives and 155 were boy-fathers, I wanted them to go to school and that has worked. </div>

Malawi has one of the highest incidents of child marriage in the world with 1 in 2 girls getting married before the age of 18. The practice is closely linked to poverty where, in the rural areas, girls are married off to improve their families' financial situations.</div>

In a photo shoot that looked more appropriate for Halloween than for their upcoming nuptials in October, the pair from Singapore, were pictured sitting on and even lying inside the coffin.</div>

Ms Tay said she had been inspired to chose bizarre theme by her and her fiance's jobs and insisted that death had played a 'central and important part' in the pictures.</div>

"A large part of the shoot was definitely inspired by our jobs," Ms Tay told the <b>BBC</b>. "Wedding shoots are often staged at places which bring the most memories. For us, work plays such a huge part of our lives so we wanted to do it in style."</div>

"It's important to talk about death; it's part and parcel of everyone's life. Many Asian societies often portray it negatively - we hope to be able to debunk that taboo by encouraging people to be open about death."</div>

Mr Cheng admitted he had been surprised by his fiance's unusual theme but agreed it suited their careers.</div>

He told <b>Straits Times</b>: "I am not superstitious and it makes sense. In some cultures and religions, death means life and rebirth." </div>

Despite the ghoulish theme, the couple look stunning in the wedding photos, with the bride-to-be in a floor length red dress and the groom in a tuxedo as they snuggled in the coffin together in a waterway park in Singapore. In another shot, Ms Tay donned a wedding dress to pose next to the casket.</div>

<b>TNN</b> reliably gathered that the supposed groom lives somewhere outside Nigeria. And, obviously because of irregular documentations (if any), the groom could not leave his country of abode to attend his wedding in Nigeria.</div>

According to sources present at the ceremony, the officiating minister had to put a call through to the groom when it was time for him to say his wedding vows. Methinks a video technology could have been deployed to show the live images of the groom where he was during the ceremony.</div>

Asked why the marriage was conducted in such a manner, another source who also witnessed the ceremony said the bride was going to join her groom where he lives as she had obtained her visa to embark on the journey. <b>LAGOS, NIGERIA - A 39-year-old trader, Mrs Modinat Idowu, told an Igando Customary Court in Lagos State on Thursday that she would continue to deny her husband, one Akeem Idowu, sex until he has paid the debt he is owing her.</b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Idowu said this while responding to a suit filed by her 45-year-old husband whom he had been married to for 12 years.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"I have been denying my husband sex because he borrowed ₦690,000 from me and has refused to pay, I will continue to starve him of sex until he pays the money," the mother of two said.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Akeem is in the habit of swearing and cursing me with a charm called <i>'Ishan egungun' </i>: a specially prepared masquerade’s rod and this is affecting my life."<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She, however, urged the court not to grant her husban's wish for the dissolution of their marriage, saying that she was still in love with him.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The petitioner, Akeem, a businessman, had asked the court to dissolve the 12-year-old marriage over alleged sex denial by his wife.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"My wife does not want me to touch her nor make love to her, I am tired of the marriage because I am neither a stick nor a stone," he said.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Akeem alleged that his wife loved attending social activities and hardly stayed at home.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Whenever she went out, she would not return home until after five days or seven days, he said.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"My wife will go from one party to another; spending days and neglecting the family.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"I have reported her severally to her father who always calls her to order but there has been no positive change," Akeem told the court.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He described Modinat as a liar, not trustworthy and always inconsistent in her words and actions.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Modinat lies a lot. One day, she told me that she was going to Mushin in Lagos state; but some hours later, someone called to tell me that she was in Igbo-Ora in Oyo state.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"When I called her and confronted her that she was in Oyo state as against Mushin she claimed she was going to when she left home, she cut her cell phone line.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"She took permission on another day that she was going to Oshodi, but someone saw her at Ijebu-Ode in Ogun, I cannot just account for her movement," Akeem said.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He pleaded with the court to dissolve the union since he was no longer interested and did not love her any more.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The President of the court, Mr Hakeem Oyekan, adjourned the case to July 22 for further hearing.<br />

Narrating how the actor turned her into a punching bag while she lived with him to a customary court, Emma said:</div>

It was when my husband beat me mercilessly I believed that people truly saw stars whenever they were unconscious. It was my brother who took me to the hospital where I spent two months. There was also a day I was feeding our last child with tea, my husband, out of anger took the tea and poured it on my head.</blockquote>

She also explained how the couple's school project failed on account of Emeka not allowing her manage it. </div>

I even persuaded his sister to bring four of her children to our school without paying a dime but instead of showing appreciation, she said I was a lavish spender and that was how I stopped being in charge of his school.</blockquote>

Explaining her ordeals further, Emma said:</div>

Each time we fight, he calls me a witch saying whenever he intends to start a project and he informs me it eventually fails. He also said if he hadn't married me, I would have become a prostitute. Since I left, he doesn't allow me to speak with our first two children asking me to come home if I really want to see them. Even when I was in with him, he leaves home for months on the pretext of different appointments. I can't face all this anymore. I need help.</blockquote>

<b>MONTANA, USA – A Montana man said Wednesday that he was inspired by last week's U.S. Supreme Court (#SCOTUS) decision legalizing gay couples to apply for a marriage license so that he can legally wed his second wife.</b></div>

Nathan Collier and his wives Victoria and Christine applied at the Yellowstone County Courthouse in Billings on Tuesday in an attempt to legitimize their polygamous marriage. Montana, like all 50 States, outlaws bigamy – holding multiple marriage licenses – but Collier said he plans to sue if the application is denied.</div>

"It's about marriage equality", Collier told <b><i>The Associated Press</i></b> Wednesday. "You can't have this without polygamy."</div>

The Supreme Court's ruling on Friday made gay marriages legal nationwide. Chief Justice John Roberts said in his dissent that people in polygamous relationships could make the same legal argument that not having the opportunity to marry disrespects and subordinates them.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Collier, 46, said that dissent inspired him. He owns a refrigeration business in Billings and married Victoria, 40, in 2000. He and his second wife, Christine, had a religious wedding ceremony in 2007 but did not sign a marriage license to avoid bigamy charges, he said.</div>

Collier said he is a former Mormon who was excommunicated for polygamy and now belongs to no religious organization. He said he and his wives hid their relationship for years, but became tired of hiding and went public by appearing on the reality cable television show "Sister Wives".</div>

<b>It was at the church service for the 90th birthday of the legendary matriarch of the Awo dynasty Chief Dr Hannah Dideolu Awolowo in Ikenne that the thoughts that prompted this article began. Some well known highly placed gentlemen and their wives were called upon to partake in the wine sipping, bread breaking ritual called <i>Holy Communion.</i> As soon as these respectable ladies and gentlemen, all of them past age 70, and amongst whom were renowned professors, high court judges, legal luminaries and business moguls, finished their spiritual blessing and were returning to their seats, they caught a pitiable sight in their over-flowing garb of hypocrisy.</b></div>

They wore forlorn mien plastered with furrowed frowned faces like someone afflicted with putrid smell of heavy dose of fart. They looked as if they were mourning a three-year-old boy mistakenly killed by his own father, or the passing of a poor woman who has just succumbed to excruciatingly painful cancer.</div>

They clung to their wives as if they were newly wedded. I temporarily forgot that I was in a holy church, the spiritual enclave of Christians. I almost laughed my head off because I knew each of the "holy" "monogamous" men intimately and by Jove, I knew of their second, third or fourth wives/liaisons/mistresses with whom they had sired several children. To the whole world they were champions of monogamy, but to their hearts and conscience they were celebrated polygamists, or at best, serial monogamists. Pshaw!</div>

I saw pain written all over them, the agony of living a lie, the unease of hypocrisy, and the shame of going through life pretending to be what you are not.</div>

This is the sort of agony a lot of the so-called monogamists go through all their lives. The series of lies they sell to their wives, and the double life they present to their pastors and church leaders, most of whom are actually equally guilty of hypocrisy and double life living.</div>

This piece is not set out to condemn or criticise monogamy. Monogamy is perfect for those who believe in its concept and can genuinely keep to it. I too have been married to one lovely woman for almost 45 years and it has been like a marriage made in heaven. I happen also to be the promoter along with some friends the 35-year-old Family Club of Nigeria which is dedicated to the upliftment and celebration of marriage and family values.</div>

The article is designed to expose the hypocrisy and pain associated with embracing false notions which are really not observed by any culture in the world, and to advise those who erroneously sentence themselves to a life of sadness and emptiness because they were deceived to believe that there is some utopia somewhere called monogamy.</div>

I am very much aware that this article will generate a lot of controversy most especially from those who live holier-than-thou life and have continued to deceive the world that they are upholders of a doctrine that is not supported by true and enlightened interpretation of any religious doctrine.</div>

The white men, I am yet to see any human being whose skin colour is like that of chalk, came and told the unfortunate lands they invaded that the cherished cultures, traditions and religions of such lands were rubbish, and instead indoctrinated them with values which they themselves never believed in or truly practiced. We know of King Henry VIII, and several major historical figures in 'Christian' Europe who had more than one wife in  addition of a string of wives who their 'laws' forbade them to address as wives but who nonetheless perform all the functions of wife minus name.</div>

God bless President Mitterrand who openly confessed to having two women in his life, with the one in the other house with whom he fathered an 18-year-old daughter at the time he passed on.</div>

I have schooled, worked and lived virtually in all the continents of the world and I make bold to say with all emphasis at my disposal that no culture on planet earth truly practices monogamy. My Greek, Italian, Russian, British, American and other Caucasians routinely visit their other wives [called by other names] with whom they have children. But back in the homes shared with the one carrying the ring, they are monogamists!</div>

If God had wanted humanity to be monogamous, He or She would not have made the pigeon the only monogamous creature.</div>

The cultures that practice polygamy had always known that at any given time, the number of available marriageable women far out number available men plus the fact that an 80-year-old man, if he has money, is still very much in the market whereas a 60-year-old woman may not be that lucky. The biological limitation to a woman’s productive age is also a factor. Why should a woman therefore remain on the shelf till age 45 when she could jolly well get married as second or sixth wife to a man who can afford to share life’s responsibilities with her? Why should a woman leave a man with whom she is No 1, simply because [he] took a second wife and end up being numberless in the hands of several men with whom she naturally shares bed just because of some doctrine she hardly understands?</div>

All the women who should go and marry but are saying they do not want to share their man with another woman in a polygamous setting, are sharing current boyfriends with several other women. Where is the logic?</div>

The argument that children in a polygamous house are always at each other's throat does not hold water. Many siblings of monogamous families are known to have had worse and irresolvable, irreconcilable squabble, with dirty bitterness over inheritance than children from different mothers.</div>

The agony suffered by both men and women in the hand of unnatural laws and doctrines is too stifling for comfort. In 2002, 502 Reverend mothers were reported to have died while procuring abortion in Rome. <i>Nigerian Tribune </i>wrote an editorial on the unfortunate incident. And stories of Reverend fathers having children and sodomising young men in their care are legion! Why the hypocrisy? Why should the world continue to live the life of Ostrich?</div>

A well known Nigerian journalist hid his other wives from his wife because his religion would not permit of it and his wife, living in monogamy should not hear of it. At his funeral service, other wives surfaced and the woman parading the ring collapsed. It was the grace of God that prevented double interment that day!</div>

The Western world which had not learnt the art of living amicably with more than one partner under the same roof has indulged in multiple serial marriages, divorcing innocent wives under flimsy excuses so that another woman can move in should not be measure of standard for the world. Thank God Hillary Clinton in the US and Mrs Cook in England were very much wiser. They refused to allow some indiscretion on the part of their husbands to ruin their marriages.</div>

There was a well known American actor who passed on about a decade ago and all his 11 ex-wives with their numerous children attended his funeral. To ridicule the lie of their hypocritical existence, all the women were recognised and addressed as wives. As far as records show, the man had 11 wives!</div>

Society must rethink this issue of pretentious monogamy vis-à-vis polygamy so that in the not-too-distant future we do not end up with millions of unmarried women whose life style would be worse than prostitutes' and millions of children whose fathers would be nowhere to be found.</div>

<b>When Deana Charles walked down the aisle with her Nigerian groom, Ben Mowah, she could not wait to spend the rest of her life with the man she loved. But just half-an-hour after the pair exchanged their vows, she discovered Ben had been texting another woman.</b></div>

Deana, 23, says: "My whole world came crashing down when I found out my marriage was a fake. I loved Ben with all my heart. We'd made loads of plans for the future and he seemed desperate to start a family."</div>

<i>TheSunUK</i> reports that sales assistant Deana, from Tiverton, Devon, met Ben, 25, on a dating site in 2010. She was instantly attracted to his looks and was hooked after he struck up a flirty conversation with her.</div>

"I wasn't serious about finding love, I'd only signed up for a bit of a laugh. As soon as I saw Ben's picture, though, I was smitten. He had gorgeous brown eyes and a great body - just my type.</div>

"We started chatting and he explained he'd come to the UK from Nigeria to study for a business degree. I couldn't imagine being so far away from my family and friends and I told him he was really brave."</div>

Ben was persistent online and was keen to meet up as soon as possible. Deana was nervous at first but, three months after they started talking, she agreed to travel to London to meet him for a day of sightseeing. </div>

She continued: "It was the perfect first date. Ben took me to see Big Ben and we went to the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. As soon as we shared our first kiss I could feel myself falling for him.</div>

"He asked me to stay for a few days and I said yes. It felt like I'd known him for ages."</div>

Days turned into weeks and, after a fleeting visit home to pick up some belongings, Deana agreed to move in with Ben in Catford, South East London.</div>

"I was surprised when he asked me to move in with him so soon but I was also really excited. But my mum was really concerned that I was giving up everything for someone I'd only just met.</div>

"Some of my friends said the same. No one was completely sure of him. I just shrugged off their concerns because I was convinced he was the right man for me."</div>

In August 2011, six months after they first met in person, Ben popped the question.</div>

"Ben asked me to marry him while we were having breakfast at home. It wasn't very romantic. He didn't even get down on one knee, but he did buy me an imitation diamond ring. I was shocked he wanted to marry me so soon but I was completely in love."</div>

Though she'd dreamt of a big, romantic wedding, Ben was determined to wed as soon as possible. So Deana agreed to a register office wedding in January 2012, with a low-key reception at a local Chinese restaurant.</div>

"My family were concerned but they all turned out and supported me. When I walked down the aisle Ben told me I looked stunning. And I meant every word of my vows."</div>

After the ceremony, Deana urged Ben to call his family to tell them the good news.</div>

"He was reluctant to get his phone out. He eventually agreed to call his mum but when I looked over his shoulder at the screen, a message flashed up from a girl. She'd texted Ben to tell him she loved and missed him. My legs turned to jelly as I remembered she was his ex-girlfriend in Nigeria.</div>

"I was in pieces but Ben begged me for another chance. He said he'd only text her because of last-minute nerves. I didn't want to storm out of my wedding so, after lots of tears, I let it go."</div>

Deana tried to start a happy married life, but the text message always weighed down on her conscience.</div>

"I wanted to wait a few years before getting pregnant as I was still worried about the message. But Ben was determined to be a dad. I thought it was his way of showing he was serious. We tried for a baby but we struggled to conceive."</div>

But 13 months into their marriage, Deana borrowed Ben's laptop and her worst fears were confirmed.</div>

Deana, who has not spoken to Ben since their divorce and no longer knows where he lives, says:</div>

It also turned out that Paul had the same surname as Ron while Ena later admitted to Lee that he did have a secret half-brother.</div>

It's being called India's first advertisement for a partner for a same-sex marriage.</div>
