Dr Adebule, at the meeting advised the run-away husband to come forward and take up the responsibility of caring for his family, admonishing him to be appreciative of the divine blessings that have come his way through the children.</div>

Mrs. Uche's visit to the Deputy Governor's office is a follow-up to <b><a href="http://nigerianewsroom.blogspot.com/2015/07/gov-ambode-to-rescue-of-abandoned.html" target="_blank">the directive of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode who directed that the woman and her children be rehabilitated and assisted</a></b> by all relevant government agencies to ensure they are in good condition.</div>

Speaking while hosting the woman the Deputy Governor sympathized with her over the traumatic experience of trying to raise the six children following the disappearance of her husband, assuring that the government will ensure the well-being of her children.</div>

"As a woman and a mother, I can only imagine what you have gone through managing six children, it must have been energy sapping and depressing, but I salute your courage and I want to assure you that this government will not abandon you, we will stand by you and ensure that you are assisted to get back to a normal life", Adebule said.</div>

<b>KADUNA, NIGERIA - Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai yesterday formally abolished "joint account" and announced that his government will be remitting ten percent of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to local governmental councils in the state.</b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the governor, Samuel Aruwan disclosed this in a statement shortly after the governor swore-in chairmen of the Interim Management Committees of the state's 23 local government councils.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
During the ceremony held at Government House, Kaduna, the governor also warned the chairmen against residing outside their local government areas. He advised that anyone of them who cannot live in the local government he has been appointed should vacate the office.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Governor El-Rufai was quoted as saying, "You have no excuse to fail. Perform and bring real development to our state at the local government level. I am using this occasion to fulfil our campaign promise, during the campaigns we said we will not hold local government funds if elected.</div>

"Therefore, I am happy to inform you that the government under our watch has formally abolished joint account in Kaduna state, there will be no more holding local government funds hostage under the pretence of joint account.</div>

"Added to this, I also wish to inform you that the government will do its best to be remitting ten percent of the state's Internally Generated Revenue to the local government areas of our dear state. Like I said, we must deliver, we can't let our people down.</div>

"In addition, you are to swing into action and commence carrying out meaningful projects in all the wards in your council. Already there is a blueprint of proposed development which you will see and work with as a guide to taking development to our communities.</div>

"You must take security serious, partner with traditional rulers and religious leaders and the entire stakeholders. Don’t be arrogant to your people, you are assigned to serve them and nothing more than that. The governor also asked that the interim local government chairmen should submit within two weeks a list of government assets such as schools and hospitals that have been encroached on by trespassers. He assured them that they will be supported by able personnel to help them succeed.</div>

<b>ABUJA, NIGERIA - President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a comprehensive relief package valued at over ₦400bn to put an end to the lingering crisis of unpaid workers’ salaries in the country.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><b><a href="http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/buhari-approves-n400bn-for-workers-salaries/" target="_blank">Vanguard</a> </b></i>gathered that a three-pronged relief package that will end the workers plight include:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<ul>
<li>The sharing of about $2.1b (₦413.7bn) in fresh allocation between the states and the federal government. The money is sourced from recent LNG proceeds to the federation account, and its release okayed by the president;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>A Central Bank-packaged special intervention fund that will offer financing to the states, ranging from between ₦250bn to ₦300bn. This would be a soft loan available to states to access for the purposes of paying backlog of salaries;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>And a debt relief program proposed by the Debt Management Office, DMO, which will help states restructure their commercial loans currently put at over ₦660bn, and extend the life span of such loans while reducing their debt-servicing expenditures.</li>

<b>ABUJA, NIGERIA - The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, on Sunday alleged that a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had decided to offer support for Senator Smart Adeyemi, who is currently challenging his electoral victory at the Court of Appeal.</b></div>

Melaye, an APC senator, told journalists in Abuja that Tinubu had contacted the immediate-past Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN), to take over the legal battle on behalf of Adeyemi.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
He also said that Adeyemi, on the request of Tinubu, had forwarded details of the suit to Adoke, asking him to look for a judge in the Court of Appeal that would offer assistance.</div>

But Tinubu, in his reaction, had asked Melaye to look elsewhere for people to blackmail.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Tinubu, who spoke through his Media Adviser, Mr. Sunday Dare, said it was nothing but a "kitchen of malicious lies".</div>

Dare said: "This is another lie from their kitchen of malicious lies. They are all over the social and traditional media, spewing lies and planting stories. We are not about that. Nigerians are not as gullible as they think.</div>

"He is aligned with people who want to kill the party, and we wish him luck, but they will not succeed because the party belongs to the Nigerian people.</div>

"This blackmail, like other ones, will not work. It cannot stick. Adoke? Who is he? Tinubu cannot recall when last he saw him or even spoke with him. Dino should look elsewhere for people to blackmail."</div>

Melaye had claimed that he incurred the wrath of Tinubu after refusing to back down from supporting the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, during the recently concluded election of presiding officers of the 8th Senate.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
But Melaye said he had no regret over his role, leading to the emergence of Saraki as the Senate President.</div>

He said: "I have no regret supporting Senator Saraki and my electoral victory was ordained by God and not by man. Therefore, no mortal can reverse it. In God I trust, no matter how desperate they might be.</div>

"I am privy to an electronic mail sent to Adoke by an Abuja-based senior editor who is close to Tinubu in which he forwarded the court papers filed by Smart Adeyemi at the tribunal to Adoke.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"In the said e-mail, Adoke was told to look for a trusted justice in the Court of Appeal who would be useful for Smart Adeyemi."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
It will be recalled that the Election Petition Tribunal in Lokoja had upheld the election of Melaye who was elected on the platform of the APC.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The tribunal had dismissed the petition filed by a former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and former chairman, Senate Committee on FCT, Adeyemi, because his lawyers filed their defence too late.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Delivering judgment in the suit, Chairman of the three-member tribunal, Justice Akon Ikpeme, described the petition by Adeyemi, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, as "incurably defective".</div>
