Abiodun had, at the commencement of his political campaign, asked the people in different towns and communities in the district to prioritise their challenges. It was then he discovered that communities in the Ogun Waterside have been suffering from total power outage for over two years.</div>

He was driving about 100 mph toward the <b>Sunshine Skyway</b> bridge when a police officer caught up with him.  Jonchuck grabbed his daughter, <b>Phoebe</b>, from the back seat and carried her to the railing of the beach.</div>

<b>The Borno State Police Command has confirmed that 20 persons were killed this afternoon in a bomb attack that rocked the popular Maiduguri Monday market.</b></div>

Top among the candidates on his list included Senator Annie Okonkwo who is seeking a return to the upper chamber; Prince John Emeka, a former Minister of Transport who claimed he won in 2011 but was played out in the chess game at the last minute; and the godfather himself, Chris Ubah who was set to replace his elder brother and former Presidential aide Andy. Others for the lower chamber include Charles Chinwendu Odedo, Chief Ceasar Ofoma, Chief George Ozodinobi, amongst others.</div>

The situation did come as a surprise as political watchers who are conversant with the politics of Anambra state read the handwriting on the wall when multiple state executives made up of quasi-legal and illegal officers emerged as the nomination process approached.</div>

<b>A 33-year-old man in Rakama village in Ningi Local Government area of Bauchi State, Ahmadu Saidu, has been arrested by police operatives from the Sate Police Command for contracting 30-year-old Umar Sanda Ali and another accomplice who is now at large, to kill his biological father, Sa'idu Lawwali, on the excuse that the deceased was a thief and was bringing shame to the family with his criminal activities.</b></div>

<b>The family of an expectant woman is up in arms with an Indian medical doctor whose incompetence in carrying out a cesarean session operation on her led to her death as well as scarring the new baby. </b></div>

The pregnant woman, <b>Funkemi Hunpe</b>, according to the <b><a href="http://newtelegraphonline.com/doctor-accused-of-killing-mother-cutting-baby-during-caesarean/">New Telegraph</a></b>, died as a result of the alleged negligence by the Indian doctor, <b>Dr. M. B. Jayaram</b>, while being delivered of her baby.</div>

She was said to be undergoing a cesarean operation at the hospital, <b>Prema Sai Hospital</b>, Agege, Lagos State, when she gave up the ghost.</div>

Her distraught husband, <b>Semako Hunpe</b>, said that the medical personnel at the hospital were responsible for the death of his wife as well as inflicting severe cuts on his baby, <b>Oluwasetemi Mary Hunpe</b>, while she was being delivered.</div>

Hunpe further alleged that after his wife died, the hospital called a pastor to pray for her, hoping to resuscitate her. He is also angry that throughout his wife’s prolonged labour, the doctor did not bother to join the nurses in the labour room until it was too late.</div>

The sad widower has gone ahead to sue the doctor and the hospital to the tune of ₦500 million. In the suit filed by his lawyer at an Ikeja High Court, Hunpe alleges that the doctor’s professional misconduct led to his wife’s death.</div>

Hunpe averred that his wife consulted Jayaram on 17 February, 2014, for the purpose of ante-natal services. He narrated that when his wife began to notice pre-delivery signs on February 24, she went to the hospital and was, <i>''subsequently placed on admission and given injections, sequel to which she was ordered to engage in labour exercise for several hours without medical attention from available mid-wives and auxiliary nurses.''</i></div>

Hunpe said that he was invited into the labour room after several hours of intense labour without adequate care and was asked to encourage his wife, ''to push out'', as she appeared exhausted.</div>

In the labour room, the widower alleged he saw a nurse apply <i>'Aboniki' </i>a balm on his wife. The nurse was allegedly rubbing the deceased’s abdomen with the balm, while asking her to push.</div>

<i>"After this amateurish mechanism did not yield the desired result, they cut my wife three times to bring out the baby and placed it somewhere unattended to."</i></div>

He said that that there was no doctor present throughout the delivery. A nurse later went to call Jayaram, according to him. Hunpe said that his wife bled profusely to death owing to the unprofessional cuts she received. The widower alleged that Jayaram told him around 6:45pm on February 26, 2014, to call his pastor, as she did not think that his wife could survive.</div>

He explained that he was later informed that his wife was dead. The hospital allegedly called a pastor to pray for the resurrection of the deceased. But the woman did not resurrect.</div>

But the hospital's counsel, <b>John Adanike</b>, has denied the charges of unprofessional misconduct, saying the doctor performed her professional duty in the best manner throughout the time the deceased stayed in the hospital.</div>

<i>"Our client denies being negligent in any manner or being guilty of any professional misconduct.</i></div>

And lest we forget, several dozen innocent Muslims died in the twin towers on 9/11 including a pregnant woman.</div>

They’re going to keep on committing these outrages, and the scale of them is going to get bigger.</div>

It’s going to severely test our collective resolve, and we’re all going to have to face up to it with the same defiant stoicism that Britain showed when Hitler or the IRA tried to bomb us into submission, and which New Yorkers displayed after 9/11.</div>

As to what can be done to curb this threat, the West’s traditional response of invading and bombing the countries that harbor them - along with our arrogant attempts to force our brand of <b>'freedom and democracy'</b> down their unwilling throats - has been a spectacularly self-defeating failure that has simply served to dramatically increase support for the terrorists.</div>

Every Drone strike that strays and kills innocent civilians in the Middle East acts as a perfect recruiting agent for hundreds, if not thousands more vengeful members of Islamic State.</div>

Every day that Guantanamo Bay stays open, keeping people prisoner without charge or trial for years on end, is used as a perfectly justifiable example of America acting as just the same repressive, inhumane, law-flouting regime that it professes to abhor.</div>

We need different thinking, smart leadership, effective military action where appropriate, and a firm coalition of global intelligence to thwart the attacks.</div>
