Queensland Police Detective Inspector Bruno Asnicar said Saturday that the 37-year-old woman was currently under guard at a hospital in the northern city of Cairns. The eighth child was her niece.</div>

Police haven't said how the children died. But Asnicar said they're examining several knives in the home that may have been the weapon used to kill the children.</div>

<b>After spending over a month in exile, 19 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ekiti State House of Assembly returned to the State on Friday. They held a plenary session, where it was agreed that the sitting of the house would be relocated to the premises of the Ekiti State University (EKSU). </b></div>

They alleged that the assembly complex was no longer safe for legislative activities because it has been taken over by thugs. </div>

The lawmakers also suspended seven of their colleagues, who are of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and nullified all the legislative activities that the PDP faction have performed since the house got divided along party lines. </div>

Those suspended are Dele Olugbemi (Ikole 2) and also the speaker of the PDP faction; Abeni Olayinka (Ado 2); Adeyinka Adeloye (Ikole 1); Alexander Adeojo (Ekiti Southwest 2); Olowo Ajiboye (Oye 2); Dele Ajibola (Ekiti East 2) and Ayo Olajide-Fatunbi (Moba 2) constituencies. </div>

The assembly had been involved in crisis since October when Ayodele Fayose, the Governor, assumed office. </div>

Witnesses said things escalated when the two disgruntled passengers fully reclined their seats to intentionally discomfort the mother, before the disagreement turned into a punch-up and air stewards had to intervene.</div>

1. Let me begin by expressing my profound gratitude to God, who has given me long life and good health, and for sustaining my passion and commitment to continue to serve our dear country, Nigeria.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Usually, reaching another milestone in life is a cause for celebration. And while I appreciate the opportunity to engage with young people who are the future leaders of our country, I cannot pretend to be as happy as I ought to be. Nevertheless, we shall not allow the challenges confronting Nigeria to lead us to despair.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. I have never wavered from my desire to contribute to a better Nigeria, even in the face of the most daunting challenges: The true mark of character is for one to believe in a good cause, and to have the courage and conviction to fight for that good cause regardless of all obstacles and challenges.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. Every time I meet and interact with young Nigerians from every part of the country, I am struck by your vitality, confidence, intelligence, creativity and vision. These are the ingredients needed to forge a great country. The only missing component is visionary leadership that would channel your energies and resourcefulness into cohesive social and economic mechanisms to develop Nigeria.</div>

5. Hopefully, I shall provide you with all the support that you require, and also create and sustain the enabling environment you need to unleash your potentials not only in Nigeria, but across the world. Nothing gladdens my heart more than stories of young Nigerians demonstrating their intellectual and creative talents and skills on the global stage.</div>

6. When I said, “This generation of Nigerians, and indeed future generations, have no country other than Nigeria. We shall remain here and salvage it together”, I had no idea that 30 years and a lost generation later, we will still be facing the same sets of problems: corruption, insecurity of lives and property, decaying infrastructure, dilapidated public institutions, crushing poverty and underdevelopment.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
7. But these problems are self-inflicted and can be solved. Be assured that our dreams for a better Nigeria might have been temporarily halted, but our resolve has never wavered. We must get our acts together and salvage our country. It will be criminal to waste the exciting potentials I see in you.</div>

8. Let me tell you a short story:</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
9. As a young army officer many years ago, I could afford to save and buy a brand new car from my earnings. Fresh university graduates got jobs before they left school and opportunities were everywhere. Today, as a retired army general, former state governor, petroleum minister and head of state, I can hardly afford that luxury.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
10. Similarly, if I hadn’t built my house at the time I built it, I probably would not own a house today; indeed, if I were to graduate today I would most likely join the ranks of the 40 million Nigerian youth who have no jobs and very little prospects of finding any, under the current government.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
11. Nothing pains me like seeing young Nigerians who left school up to 10 years ago still living with their parents or living rough with friends or relatives simply because they can not find jobs. Unfortunately, our system has no social safety net of any sort to support those that need help. Nothing crushes the human spirit more than poverty, powerlessness and hopelessness.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
12. However, I believe that with prudent management, Nigeria has the resources to meet the needs of all citizens. We will see to a Nigeria where lives and property are safe; schools are world class, health services are available and affordable and where every Nigerian feels proud and wanted.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
13. Our government shall be about jobs, jobs and more jobs for our youth. To this end, We will implement strategies to immediately engage as many unemployed Nigerians as possible in quick-win schemes, while we fashion out long-term programmes to make unemployment history in Nigeria.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
14. Our poverty alleviation and job creation approach will not be about giving handouts to a few thousand people when we have a staggering 40 million to cater for. The current method not only lacks originality but is not sustainable. We shall stimulate all sectors of the economy to create entrepreneurs and real wealth for all Nigerians, not just a select few.</div>

15. Nigeria has no business with poverty, unemployment and underdevelopment. An APC government will therefore ensure that our commonwealth is used to develop our country for the benefit of all Nigerians.</div>

16. What is at stake is the future of Nigeria. The struggle is for the millions of Nigerians who have been driven from their homes by terrorists;it is about the tens of millions of Nigerians who have no jobs, no sense of security and no hope for a better future; it about putting Nigeria first.</div>

17. The need for change is imperative. The future of Nigeria is about your future. The big question is: Do we have the courage to vote for change? Are you ready to join me in securing our country and our future?</div>

18. If you are, then go about and spread the message of change. Convince your families and friends to register and ensure that they vote correct in the upcoming elections. The Bangladeshi man claims he has the right under his culture to have sex with her whenever he pleases and she has no right to refuse.</div>

He has already taken his wife's cousin as a second "wife" and had two children with her, but still demands the right to have sex with the woman he married first.</div>

Family Division judge Mr Justice Mostyn refused in a judgment, but ordered anonymity in the case to protect the identity of the wife and children. He said:</div>

"The evidence clearly shows that TB has barely an inkling of the health risks involved. She was unable to link sex to pregnancy. Indeed she had virtually no idea how her babies came to be in her tummy (as she put it). Although she found sex enjoyable and comfortable she had no idea that she had a choice and could refuse.</div>

"Indeed the attitude of SA, based, as he told me on his culture and religion, was that he had a right to seek sex from her and that it was her duty to submit."</div>

However, with a mental age of between four and eight, the 39-year old wife - identified only by the initials TB - has been taken into care under the Mental Health Act by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, where the family lived.</div>

All their four children have also been taken into care because the woman does not have the ability to care for them. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

But the husband - known as SA and married to her for 18 years - wanted her back home.</div>

The judge said efforts to enlighten TB about sex, her rights, and the risks involved had failed. He added:</div>

Finland Deports 100 Nigerians

"A policeman asked me what I want since I did not have any criminal record to warrant my deportation. I said I wanted to work and live a normal life in Finland, so he (policeman) told me to seek asylum and I did that. </div>

I was taken to the asylum camp and was there for more than a year processing my work documents. There were other African nationals there with four Nigerians. Suddenly, we, the Nigerians were brought out and deported without any reason.</div>

"The Nigerian Embassy in Finland refused to come to my aid, even after I paid 1,500 euros to embassy officials", he alleged. </div>

Another deportee, who wanted to be identified as Jackso, alleged that officials of the Nigerian Embassy in Finland colluded with some Finnish immigration officers to extort money from asylum seekers in the camp. Jackso said that the embassy officials promised to assist them to get work permits from the Finnish authority.</div>

A female deportee, simply called Esther, said that she and her husband had been in Finland for over 14 years and was surprised that they were deported without committing any offense. Esther said she was deported along with her husband and seven-year old daughter without any compensation. She said that other Africans in the camp were given an opportunity to stay and work in Finland, but that the Finnish authorities were hostile to Nigerians.</div>

<b>The Police in Lagos State on Friday arraigned a 37-year-old Yinka Daudu, who claimed to be a spiritualist, for allegedly stealing ₦3.5 million belonging to one Monday Jatau.</b></div>

The accused was charged before a Shomolu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on three charges of stealing ₦3.5 million from Jatau, under the pretext that he will solve his spiritual problem.</div>

Mr Thomas Muhammed, the prosecutor, an Inspector of Police, told the court that the accused conspired with others now at large to steal the money, without offering solution to the complainant’s problem.</div>

Muhammed said the accused committed the offences on Aug. 24, at 11.15 a. m. at No. 6, Adenekan Street, Bariga in Lagos.</div>

He said that the offences committed contravened Sections 409, 312 (a) (2) and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2011.</div>

Contrary to the expectation by the people of Ogun state on the choice of the running mate of Governor Ibikunle Amosun, the governor and some leaders of the All Progressives Congress chose a dark horse.</div>

Expectedly, many people believed that Amosun would compensate his former running mate; Mrs. Elisabeth Sonubi while he contested for governorship on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party in 2007 which he lost,</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Vanguard gathered that, left for Amosun, he would have chosen Sonubi who is currently the commissioner for women Affairs and social development as his running mate for the 2015 governorship election.</div>

Sonubi who hails from Ijebu-North-East in Ogun East Senatorial district is a grass root politician whose choice by Amosun in 2007 conferred a lot of acceptance on the team.</div>

It was reliably gathered that three people were shot-listed by Amosun as his possible running mate. They were Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muyiwa Oladipo; Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Elisabeth Sonubi and the wife of slain governorship candidate on the platform of the defunct Action Congress, Mrs Dipo Dina.</div>

This development followed the defection of the current deputy governor, Prince Segun Adesegun to the Social Democratic Party as a fall out of the disagreement between him and the governor.</div>

Adesegun was reported to have been forced on Amosun by the leadership of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria prior to the 2011 general elections.</div>

It would be recalled that Amosun who was a governorship candidate on the platform of All Nigeria's Peoples Party, ANPP, collapsed his political structure with the defunct Action Congress, AC, and formed Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, on which platform he contested for governorship and won.</div>

The party, according to the findings chose his running mate who he never had interaction with before the party announced him. A close associate of Amosun hinted <i>Vanguard</i> that, Amosun made several attempts to have his way in the choice of running mate but was not successful.</div>

Adesegun who hails from Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu-North Local Government had a nasty relationship with his estranged boss before they eventually parted ways.</div>

Sequel to the internal wrangling that rocked the All Progress Congress in the state, Adesegun defected to the Social Democratic Party, SDP, which paved way for Amosun to search for another deputy governor for his second term.</div>

In the bid to get a strategic candidate, APC picked a Deputy Director from Lagos Ministry of Environment, Yetunde Abosede Onanuga as a running mate of Amosun for 2015 elelction.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Onanuga who hails from Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu-North Local Government is a wife of a prominent Chief in Ijebu-Ode just as she is a daughter of a late monarch in Ijebu-Igbo.</div>

Speaking shortly after she was declared Amosun's running mate, Onanuga said: "firstly, I will like to say thank you to God for making this possible. It is a day of joy to me, a day the Lord has made and I'm rejoicing in it. I have been looking forward to this day, because I can remember four years ago, I came out because I wanted this position but, as God wants it, this is the day the Lord has made and I eventually emerge as the running mate of our dear governor."</div>

About her background, she explained "My father is from Aparaki in Ijebu-Igbo under Ijebu-North local government; my mother is from Akaka and actually the daughter of the late Alakaka of Akaka Chief E. Oyesofojo. I'm also married to a son of Ijebu-Ode, Otunba Abiodun Onanuga.</div>

The State Chairman of the party, Chief Roqib Adeniji who presented Onanuga, as the running mate to the leaders and members of the party during a stakeholders meeting held in Abeokuta, said the choice of Onanuga was carefully made by the party.</div>

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ogun State on Tuesday nominated a seasoned bureaucrat and Princess from Aparaki in Ijebu North Local Government Area, Chief (Mrs) Yetunde Abosede Onanuga as the running mate for Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who had earlier emerged as the unopposed gubernatorial candidate for the 2015 general elections.</div>

Mrs. Onanuga (nee Fabanwo), 54, was presented to party leaders at the ultra-modern MTR Hall inside Ibara GRA by the state party Chairman, Chief Roqeeb Adeniji. She was accompanied to the venue by her husband, Otunba Abiodun Onanuga, the Giwa Bobakeye Akile Ijebu, who is also Managing Director of NUGACON Group of Companies.</div>

With Governor Amosun coming from Ogun Central Senatorial District, the party had earlier zoned the Deputy Governor's slot to Ogun East Senatorial District while the speakership is zoned to Ogun West Senatorial District.</div>

The Deputy Governor is expected to come from Ijebuland. Co-incidentally, Chief (Mrs) Onanuga is not only from the two largest LGAs in Ijebuland by origin and marriage, she also has a link to the Remo area. She is by origin from Ijebu North LGA and her husband is a ranking member of the royal court of the Awujale of Ijebuland in Ijebu Ode LGA. Her mother is also a princess of the Akaka town in Remo area. Therefore, she has a link with all the sections of the Ogun East Senatorial District.</div>
