<b>The President Goodluck Jonathan and the President-elect Muhammadu Buhari's transition committees met again in Abuja on Monday with a strong denial that there was a rift between them.</b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The committees, headed by Vice President Namadi Sambo for the outgoing government and  Ahmed Joda for the incoming government have been at each others neck with the  All Progressives Congress (APC) recently accusing  the Presidency of not cooperating with the Joda-led committee, an allegation denied by the Namadi Sambo-led committee.</div>

Alhaji  Joda who led some members of his committee to meet with the Namadi Sambo committee told State House correspondents that  his committee had been getting all necessary cooperation from the outgoing government.</div>

He denied ever complaining that there was no cooperation from the out going government's committee.</div>

"Our committee has never said to anybody that there is no cooperation. We have never said that and we are waiting for the reports, until when they come", he said.</div>

<b>President Goodluck Jonathan has convened what appears to be the last meeting of the Council of State that will hold under his leadership. The meeting holds on Tuesday (tomorrow).</b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Council consists of the President (as the Chairman), Vice President, all former Presidents or former Heads of State, all former Chief Justices of Nigeria, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, all State Governors and the Attorney-General of the Federation.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although the meeting, slated for 11am inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja is the last one Jonathan will be chairing, he  is still expected to be attending subsequent ones as a former President.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The President may use the opportunity of the meeting to thank council members for their supports since the inception of his administration and ask them to extend the same hand of fellowship to the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.</div>

By virtue of being a former Head of State, Buhari is an existing member of the council.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
He will automatically assume its leadership after his inauguration on May 29.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Tuesday meeting may also review the conduct of the last general elections across the country.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Buhari had been staying away from the council's meetings up until the last meeting, which was held on February 5.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
At that meeting, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, had briefed members on preparation for the general elections.</div>

Council members had then been divided over the desirability or otherwise of postponing the general elections from the earlier scheduled dates of February 14 and 28.</div>

One of the key responsibilities of that organ of government is to advise the President in the exercise of his powers with respect to INEC, including the appointment of members of the commission.</div>

The monarch made the denial at a reconciliatory meeting held at Owo Community High School in Oke-Odan on Saturday.</div>

He swore by the throne that he never had such heinous intention.</div>

The monarch was accused of planning to assassinate Prince Segun Rufai, who hails from the ruling house of the late Oba Babatunde Alao, who was one of the founding fathers of the Owo community.</div>

The meeting, which was held at the instance of some eminent personalities of the community, was used to settle the rift between the monarch and the prince.</div>

Rufai had also alleged he had received several threat telephone calls, warning him to steer clear of the alleged plans to orchestrate the monarch's removal as the Oba in the community.</div>

He said, “A report got to me that the Olowo of Owo said I would soon join my ancestors if I do not desist from my action that made people got attracted to me.</div>

“Again, someone else called me three days ago to tell me that the Kabiyesi (monarch) was making moves to kill me because he had seen me as his rival, who wants to take over his throne.”</div>

Mr. Musa's accreditation tag was withdrawn by security operatives attached to the Presidential Villa, for asking visiting Chadian President, Idriss Deby, a question they found embarrassing.</div>

Confirming the withdrawal, Mr. Musa said the Chief Security Officer to the President appears not to be comfortable with the question he asked the visiting Chadian leader.</div>

Mr.Musa had asked the Chadian President the link between the troops of the Multi-National Task Force and mercenaries from South Africa that are currently fighting in the Sambisa forest.</div>

He said the Chadian leader responded that he was not aware of the presence of mercenaries in Sambisa fighting alongside the multi-national troops.</div>

<b>A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Godwin Obla, has denied leaking the plot by the United States of America to abduct the Ogun-East Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu, and forcibly extradite him to face charges of illicit drug.</b></div>

Kashamu had stated in a petition to the National Human Rights Commission that Obla, got the information of the plot to abduct him from the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Adoke Mohammed (SAN)‎, and leaked it to his (Kashamu's) personal lawyer,  Mr. Ajibola Oluyede.</div>

But Obla has denied having any link to the information relating to the alleged plot.</div>

He has dragged Oluyede who authored the NHRC petition on behalf of Kashamu, before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee,‎ insisting that the story of his involvement in the leaking of the alleged information was a mere fabrication.</div>

Obla maintained that the fabrication by Oluyede was made to make his client’s case look good.</div>

The SAN asked the LPDC  “to inquire into the infamous  conduct of Ajibola Oluyede with a view to bringing him before the committee to account for the misdeed to save the legal profession of loss of reputation and integrity of its members.”</div>

He said though he was close to Adoke, at no time did the two of them discuss issues relating to Kashamu’s extradition.</div>

Oluyede had stated in the petition that Obla told him the plot to forcibly extradite Kashamu to the USA while they were both on a flight to the US.</div>

The bill, according to a report by Radio City, a local South  African radio station, is widely regarded as one of the greatest steps in the history of combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country which has the highest HIV prevalence in Africa.</div>

Zuma who is reported to to have volunteered to be the first South African citizen to get his HIV status tattooed near his genitals, however  announced that only the first 10 million people (who already tested positive) to volunteer to have their HIV statuses tattooed on their genitals would be given the money in form of a funeral expense voucher.</div>

After signing the bill, Zuma was quoted as saying: “The mark is to protect those who can't say no to sex. I mean if you can't read between the lines you should read between the legs because that's where the status would be tattooed.</div>

“The choice to be HIV positive is now in your hands or your genitals for that matter.... We also encourage those who had been living with the virus to go to the nearest public hospitals to get their status tattooed in,” he noted.</div>

South Africa has the world’s highest HIV caseload and premature deaths of 300,000 people. The government is distributing life-prolonging anti-retroviral drugs to people infected with the virus.</div>

Particularly, HIV-positive infants and children  under one year obtain free ARVs, while pregnant women and patients with  tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS with CD4 cell counts below 350 are treated free.</div>

In 2006, Zuma faced charges of raping an HIV-positive family friend, and was ridiculed for testifying that he took a shower after sex to lower the risk of infection with HIV. Many factors contribute to the wide spread of HIV in the country. HIV and AIDS estimates by UNAIDS (2013), show that the number of people living with HIV in South Africa averages 6.3 million. Adults aged 15 to 49 have average prevalence rate of 19.1 percent while youths aged 15 and above living with HIV number 5.9 million.</div>
