Reacting to the speech, in Yenagoa on Saturday, Jonathan said that he was gladdened by the posture of the president.</div>

"Buhari said that he does not belong to any clique, and I congratulate him for that statement.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
"It shows that we should all rally around him to work towards the development of the country and make Nigerians happy", Jonathan said.</div>

Other opinion leaders in Bayelsa also commended Buhari for the speech, describing it as 'a roadmap' to move the country forward.</div>

The Bayelsa Chairman of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUCN), Mr Tari Dounana, told the <i>News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) </i>that the speech indicated that Buhari was ready to bring change to the country.</div>

Dounana urged the new president to fulfill his promises to Nigerians irrespective of party, religious and tribal affiliation.</div>

“All Nigerians, especially RIFAN should cooperate with the new administration to move the country forward.</div>

It was leant that the late chairman died while waiting receive the Venezuelan vice president, Jorge Arreaza, and the state deputy governor, Silas Agara.</div>

A relation of the deceased,  Mr Amos Auta, said the late chairman left his house hale and hearty in the morning only for the family to receive the shocking news of his demise.</div>

He described his death as a great loss not only to the people of Karu local government but the All Progressives Congress (APC) and indeed the entire state.</div>

<b>President Muhammadu Buhari has given a brief insight into his preparations for the last general elections, saying the technology used for the polls were provided by “foreign partners” after he confronted them with a scary scenario of a refugee crisis that may follow another round of fraudulent poll in Nigeria.</b></div>

"We have not banned anyone from travelling," said the President.</div>

Responding to some cases of "V.I.P stoppages" at the airports as reported to him on Saturday, President Buhari directed all agencies under the government to run their affairs in full compliance with extant rules, regulations and the constitution of the country.</div>

"Unless otherwise directed by the courts, no law-abiding citizens should be barred from travelling abroad. We must treat fellow citizens with courtesy and respect. Officials at the borders and other points of entry and exit should conduct their affairs in strict compliance with due process. No one has my permission to bar anyone from travelling abroad," the president said.</div>
