<b>President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday said he would ensure that South-East got equal number of states with other geopolitical zones in the country, if re-elected.</b><br />
<br />
Jonathan made the pledge at the secretariat of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Owerri, where he was received by royal fathers in the state.<br />
<br />
According to him, before other zones will talk of getting more states, the people of South-East must first get one additional state to bring them at par with other geopolitical zones.<br />
<br />
Each of the six geo-political zones in the country has six states except South-East with five states and North-East with seven states.<br />
<br />
Jonathan, who described the people of South-East as his "taproot at the national level", said he was delighted at the level of support he enjoyed from the zone.<br />
<br />
He said that his visit to the royal fathers was to solicit their prayers and support ahead of Saturday’s presidential elections, and urged the people to vote for him and other PDP candidates.<br />
<br />
Earlier, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, the Chairman of the traditional rulers’ council, told Jonathan that South-East people were highly expectant of additional states, in addition to looking forward to enjoying other benefits of democracy.<br />
<br />
He urged the president to go ahead with his good work, adding that his transformational leadership was highly felt by Nigerians.<br />

<b>The women’s wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has decried attempts by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to misrepresent the pronouncements of Hajiya Aisha Buhari at the recent APC South-South women’s rally in the state.</b><br />
<br />
In a statement signed by the State’s women leader, Dr (Mrs.) Aisosa Amadasun in Benin, the APC said the mischief and ill-will evident in recent publications misrepresent the utterances of Hajiya A’isha Buhari, which depict the usual desperation of the PDP to misinform Nigerians for cheap political gains.<br />

The statement noted that “Hajiya Buhari at the rally addressed important national issues especially those affecting women without prejudice against any part of the country.<br />
<br />
The statement noted that what Hajiya Buhari said in each zone of the country is different.<br />
<br />
The statement also quoted Mrs. Buhari as saying, “For me, in this zone, girl child trafficking should be considered one of our problems, though I know there is unemployment. The unemployment is the major factor that contributes to brain drain and also the girl-child trafficking. General Muhammadu Buhari is a leader, he was a leader, he led Nigeria some decades ago, and he is coming back now to sanitize the system.<br />
<br />
“When my husband is elected, all these are going to be history. The insecurity, the girl-child trafficking, sufferings of widows in the South-East will come to an end.<br />
<br />
“There must be a design – a cultural design that can accommodate the widow, and then a design that can make the girl-child comfortable wherever she is in the country. She doesn’t need to leave her country to go and prostitute elsewhere. It is not her portion. Her portion is to have a moral, a high standard moral society for her to live, get married, have children, train them and also mould them to become the future of our leaders.”<br />

The Edo State APC Women Wing further noted, “It is evident from her statement that Hajiya Buhari only spoke as a mother and patriot who is committed to the well-being of the Nigerian girl-child, widows and the female gender in general.”</div>

<b>Gov. Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Tuesday urged voters not to make trouble as they wait behind to defend their votes after casting their ballots.</b><br />
<br />
Fashola spoke at the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Somolu area of the state.<br />
<br />
He emphasised that there was no law prohibiting the electorate from staying behind at the polling units after voting.<br />
<br />
“Some people have said that you should not stay near the polling units after voting; that is untrue.<br />
<br />
“Let me tell you something, election is governed by law; I am saying this because I am not just a lawyer but a leader in the legal profession.<br />
<br />
“There is nothing in the electoral law that stops you or prohibits you from staying at the polling units to defend your votes.<br />
<br />
“Stay close, but don’t make trouble; that is what the law says,” Fashola said.<br />
<br />
According to the governor, ‘ordinary people’ who are not members of political parties have the right to watch happenings at the polling units.<br />
<br />
“It is not only political parties that have interest in the votes,” he said.<br />
<br />
He enlightened the electorate to wash their hands thoroughly before leaving their homes to vote, for the card readers to identify their thumbprints efficiently.<br />
<br />
Fashola urged the electorate to vote wisely and choose the APC Presidential candidate, retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and the governorship candidate in the state, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, in the upcoming elections.<br />
<br />
“Be part of the change, be part of the transformation and be part of the greater Lagos and Nigeria,” Fashola said.<br />
<br />
Earlier, Ambode said that the general elections should not be about tribe or religion but about the future of the country.<br />
<br />
“We want our freedom, we want our liberty and we should work towards a united Nigeria,” Ambode said.<br />
<br />
He urged the electorate to use their votes, rather than violence, to support the APC in the general elections.<br />
<br />
The candidate described violence as an aberration in democracy, advising voters to express themselves through the ballot papers rather than acts that could ruffle the system.<br />
<br />
Ambode promised to create an employment trust fund that would allow youths have access to finance.<br />
<br />
“Each division will be given N1 billion each year so that youths can go off the streets.<br />
<br />
“Beyond that, I will develop all your talents and give you all the support you need,” he said.<br />
<br />
Ambode assured the people that he would consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors saying that the state required an excellent administrator like him.<br />

<b>Director, Media and Publicity of the People’s Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has alleged that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is planning to use its illegal <i>Radio Chanji</i> to announce false results of next Saturday's Presidential and National Assembly elections.</b><br />
<br />
A statement by the media director on Tuesday in Abuja said their aim is to announce the results all over the country and particularly in Northern Nigeria.<br />
<br />
Fani-Kayode berated the APC for resorting to what he termed “guerilla journalism” through the establishment and operation of "illegal <i>Radio Chanji</i>" at a secret location outside the country and lampooned the party's leadership for consistently indulging in all manner of occultism.<br />
<br />
“The first is our concern about the intentions of the APC to use the radio station known as Radio Change (Radio Chanji in Hausa) to create crises in this country after the election results have been announced.<br />
<br />
“Once again, we must let the Nigerian people know that what the APC intends to do is to incite the Nigerian public to violence after they lose the election. They also intend to use the station to announce false results all over the country, particularly targeting Northern Nigeria. It is important that we alert the public about this sinister agenda.<br />
<br />
"We urge the Nigerian people not to allow themselves to be used for violence and to ignore every fake result that will be pronounced by this illegal radio station on March 28 and 29, 2015," he said.<br />
<br />
He condemned what he called "consistent verbal attacks" by the APC leaders on traditional rulers and institutions in the South-Western part of the country, saying: "our message to the APC leadership is to leave our Obas alone and our warning to them is that if they refuse to do so they will regret it deeply at the polls," he said.<br />

<b>Wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan said Tuesday in Akure, Ondo State that a vote for the APC presidential candidate Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is a vote to send Nigerians to prison.</b><br />

Speaking to a mammoth crowd at the PDP national rally held at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade ground in Akure, Dame Jonathan said Gen Buhari is a dictator.<br />
<br />
According to her, a dictator will always be a dictator no matter how his handlers white wash him. Nigerians should not make that mistake because a vote for Buhari is a vote to send people to prison.<br />
<br />
She begged Nigerians not to be carried away by the change mantra of the opposition saying its a deceit.<br />
<br />
According to her: "a vote for Buhari it is vote for prison while a vote for Jonathan is a vote for continuity, transformation and positive development."<br />
<br />
She described the APC as a party of liars, propagandists adding that the party has “nothing to offer but to grab power by all means”.<br />
<br />
Dame Jonathan said the Jonathan administration impacted the lives of women more than any administration before him.<br />
<br />
"Do not vote for the candidate of the APC who do not have regard for the women."<br />
<br />
She pointed out that out of 42 Federal executive council member under President Jonathan 16 were women.<br />
<br />
"This is pay back time for President Jonathan all our women should come out on Saturday and cast their vote for him."<br />
<br />
According to him the President has promised to give 40 percent political positions to the women if re-elected.<br />
<br />
The wife of the President said Nigerians should nail the political coffin of Gen Buhari next Saturday by not voting for him.<br />
<br />
Dame Jonathan listed all the achievements of the president in the area of education, transportation, agriculture, oil and gas, power, aviation, trade and investment, health and security<br />
<br />
The wife of the state governor, Mrs Olukemi Mimiko said the state will deliver 90 percent votes for the President.<br />
<br />
Mrs Mimiko said that the women in the state are convinced that a vote for President Jonathan will make a difference (in) their lives and that of their husbands and children.<br />
<br />
Governor Olusegun Mimiko said under President Jonathan maternal mortality rate has reduced by 50 percent.<br />
<br />
He pointed out that it was that bad before the President assumed office as an average of 96 women die every month because of maternal mortality.<br />
<br />
The governor who said Ondo state is Jonathan territory said the women in the state will vote enmass e for him on Saturday having impacted their lives positively under the micro credit loans and his other laudable programmes.<br />

<b>Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Tuesday, disclosed that he has uncovered another plot by the Presidency to handover to the Nigerian military if it loses the coming Presidential election.</b><br />

Obasanjo said this alleged plot would undermine the integrity of Nigeria among the comity of nations.<br />
<br />
The former President stated  this yesterday while playing host to the South West women of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by the wife of the party’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, Hajia Aisha Buhari.<br />
<br />
Obasanjo had recently warned against introduction of Interim National Government by the Presidency which he said could plunge the country into chaos  like the former President of Cote d’l voire , Laurent Gbagbo who refused to hand over after he lost the election  did.<br />
<br />
The former President said, he was happy that Nigeria has gone beyond the rumour of Interim National Government, saying that, he hopes  the country will also survive the rumour of handing over to the military.<br />
<br />
He explained  that the intentional community especially the African Union would not accommodate or recognise any government that emerges without the constitution of the country.<br />

<b>Boko Haram has kidnapped 506 young women and children from Damasak, a town in Borno state Nigeria, <a href="http://af.reuters.com/article/nigeriaNews/idAFL6N0WQ43220150324">Reuters</a> is reporting.</b><br />

The news agency quoted a resident who witnessed the abduction as saying that more than 50 were killed as the sect raided the northern Nigerian town.<br />
<br />
“They took 506 young women and children. They killed about 50 of them before leaving,” Souleymane Ali, a trader in Damasak said.<br />
<br />
“We don’t know if they killed others after leaving, but they took the rest with them.”<br />
<br />
Toumba Mohamed, a lieutenant colonel with the Nigerien army, involved in the Damasak incursion of Niger-Chad forces, said residents had reported between 400 and 500 women and children kidnapped.<br />
<br />
Last week, Niger-Chad forces recovered the town from Boko Haram, who had been in control of the town since November 2014.<br />
<br />
Nigerien and Chadian troops, who also discovered a mass grave of Boko Haram victims just outside the town, also said Nigerian soldiers had refused to register presence in the town since its recovery.<br />
<br />
In April 2014, the sect kidnapped more than 200 girls from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok.<br />

I am indeed delighted to be here at this dinner organised by the Abuja Private Sector Forum to give me another opportunity to interact with the private sector and garner support for our electioneering campaign. This gesture demonstrates the patriotic zeal of the Forum to the unity and progress of our dear country. Coming less than one week to the General Election of March 28th 2015, this forum will certainly go a long way to sensitise and mobilise our people to constructively apply themselves to actualise the much-desired change in our country on that date.<br />
<br />
I am glad to state that desire for change in Nigeria today is not just an All Progressives Party (APC) affair but has turned into a national movement under pinned by a National Agenda of arresting the drift and promoting the unity and development of our country. This desire for change has been embraced by all and sundry from all over the country.<br />
<br />
I am sure you are all concerned about the general deterioration in all sectors of the Nigerian society, in particular the business environment which has been negatively affected by mismanagement, profligacy, bad governance, corruption and above all pervasive insecurity in our land and therefore has not been able to advance the course of doing business in our country.<br />
<br />
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, if by the grace of God I am elected President, in the next Saturday’sElection, the security and stability of our nation, which have been threatened in recent times, more than at any time since the Civil War, shall be properly addressed as a number one priority by enhancing the capacity of security agencies to safeguard lives and property. We shall decisively bring the Boko Haram insurgency to an end and promote lasting peace and stability in all the nooks and crannies of our nation. We would ensure that the victims of the insurgency are adequately rehabilitated and supported to restore their means of livelihood. All Nigerians shall be free to live and work in every part of the country.<br />
<br />
We shall make accountability and transparency the hall marks of our administration by ensuring that resources are well utilized through plugging all loop holes and eliminating wastages and corruption in governance. Anti corruption agencies shall be strengthened and given free hand to operate in discharging their statutory mandate.<br />
<br />
We would strengthen and make government institutions more independent to provide the necessary regulatory framework for environment conducive for business. We would provide level playing field and will not allow politics to creep into and constrain the business climate. We would embark on multiple tracks reform in the oil & gas sector especially the government institutions like the NNPC to block revenue transmission leakages and make them more efficient and accountable.<br />
<br />
The manifesto of our great Party, the APC, which took six months of surveys and painstaking analyses of the Nigerian condition to develop, has come out with a comprehensive Economic Development Plan geared towards promoting agriculture, power supply, infrastructural development, industrialization and job creation, amongst others. We shall promote sound macro – economic policy environment, run an efficient and transparent Government, restore and strengthen financial confidence by putting in place a more robust monitoring, supervision and regulation of all financial institutions.<br />
<br />
We shall embark on a National Infrastructural Development Programme that will promote road, air and water transportation in the country to make Nigeria a hub of the West African Sub Region. Roads and rail construction will unlock a value chain of opportunities for construction companies, builders, engineers, architects, quarry operators, cement and iron rod production and supply. We shall undertake a review of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework with a view to strengthening its legal, regulatory and operational systems. We shall provide incentives to accelerate public and private sector investments in the green field ports development and inland waterways. Our maritime environment shall be secured and protected from piracy and armed robbery at sea.<br />
<br />
We would undertake a more comprehensive power reform that would address the gaps in power industry. Also, we would explore and develop alternative sources of energy that are efficient, affordable and environmentally sustainable. These would boost power supply, create jobs and reduce the cost of doing business in Nigeria.<br />
<br />
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, the current dwindling oil prices has brought our economic and social predicament into sharp focus. We must stop paying lip service to agriculture by taking practical and concrete steps to restore it to its glorious position as the mainstay of our economy providing employment, food for our teeming population as well as leading foreign exchange earner.<br />
<br />
Our Agricultural policy shall provide farmers a dignified living through improved inputs, extension services, access to credits and price support mechanisms. We would re-vitalize the agricultural sector and make it the engine of growth, and source of job and wealth creation. Some of our policy thrust would include Agricultural Enterprises Value Chain and Cluster Development for commodities, and institutional framework and support for agribusiness investment. In this regard, the Abuja Commodity Exchange shall be reinvigorated and supported. We will rehabilitate and invest in agric. Infrastructure such as access roads and dams & irrigation. We will also invest in Research & development and promote farmers capacity for more efficient agric. production. We will restore and institutionalize extension services system.<br />
<br />
Arising from the above, we shall adopt a robust industrialization policy and provide conducive environment for a private sector led industrial base for the economy. We would create industrial Hubs and Clusters with appropriate infrastructure and tax incentives to support industries and businesses. We will promote relevant education in technical and vocational training to create the necessary skills required for industrial development. Property rights will be guaranteed, while sanctity of contracts would be protected.<br />
<br />
We shall take a look at the Land Use Act of 1978 with a view to making land more accessible for residential, commercial and developmental purposes. We shall provide incentives in the housing sector to bridge the housing deficit in the country in order to make houses cheaper and affordable to our average income earners, especially in our major urban centres such as Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kaduna, Ibadan and Kano.<br />
<br />
Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, when I addressed the Lagos private sector on 2nd February 2015, I did promise that if elected, I would maintain periodic and regular meetings stakeholders to obtain well informed advice for Government to formulate policies and strategies that would uplift this country from the economic doldrums and advance their interest for the overall progress and development of our country. I am therefore happy to state that the private sector will be one of the stakeholders to be consulted on issues from time to time. As we approach 28th March 2015, we urge you and other Nigerians to intensify efforts to vote as well as mobilise voters to ensure my successful election. I would want to reiterate my pledge that I will lead with integrity, honour and sincere commitment to the good cause of Nigerians.<br />

I would like to finally express my profound appreciation to the organizers of this event for their altruistic support and all those who participated in this dinner as well as many others who contributed in one way or the other to our campaign efforts. <b>A passenger jet carrying 148 people crashed Tuesday in the French Alps. France’s president said no survivors were likely as search-and-rescue teams raced to the remote region. The Germanwings Airbus passenger jet crashed as it traveled from Barcelona to Duesseldorf, French officials said.</b><br />

French Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet says debris from the crash of an Airbus A320 has been located and the plane crashed at 2,000 meters altitude in the Alps. Brandet told BFM television that he expected “an extremely long and extremely difficult” search and rescue operation because of the area’s remoteness.<br />
<br />
The airplane sent out a distress signal at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Brandet said.<br />
<br />
Eric Ciotti, the head of the regional council in southeast France, said search-and-rescue teams were headed to the crash site at Meolans-Revels.<br />
<br />
In a live briefing Tuesday, Hollande said it was probable that a number of the victims are German. He said the area of the crash was remote and it was not clear whether anyone on the ground had been injured by the crash.<br />
<br />
“I want to express my solidarity to the family of the victims,” Hollande said. “We do not not yet know the identities of the victims. It is a mourning we have to go through because it is a tragedy that has happened on our soil”.<br />
<br />
Hollande added he would be speaking shortly with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.<br />
<br />
The French newspaper La Provence, citing aviation officials, said the Airbus plane carried at least 142 passengers, two pilots and four flight attendants.<br />

<i>GermanW</i><i>ings</i> is a lower-cost unit of Lufthansa, Germany’s biggest airline, that has been operating since 2002 - part of traditional national carriers’ response from rising European budget carriers. It serves mainly European destinations. Both Airbus and Germanwings released statements saying they aware of the reports but cannot yet confirm them.<br />

<b>A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the Nigerian Communications Commission to pay the All Progressives Congress ₦500 million as damages for unlawfully banning the party’s presidential campaign fund-raising platform.</b><br />
<br />
Justice Ibrahim Buba gave the order in his judgment following a suit filed by the APC against the NCC and Etisalat, MTN Nigeria, Globacom, Airtel Nigeria and Visafone Communications.<br />
<br />
The judge, in his judgment, held that the APC was protected by the constitution to pursue the enforcement of its fundamental rights once they were violated.<br />
<br />
Mr. Buba, thereafter, dismissed NCC’s counter affidavit and ruled that the actions of the respondents were illegal and unconstitutional.<br />
<br />
The judge held that the damages were to be paid jointly and severally by all the respondents.<br />
<br />
The political party had sued the commission, demanding ₦25bn as damages, for allegedly banning its presidential campaign fund-raising platform.<br />
<br />
The APC had accused the NCC of instructing the 2nd to 6th respondents to discontinue an SMS platform it created for the purpose of getting donations from willing members of the public for its presidential campaign.<br />
<br />
The party claimed to have initiated the participatory fund-raising platform as a way of getting every member of the general public to contribute ₦100 to its presidential campaign fund each time they sent APC as an SMS to 35350.<br />
<br />
The APC had deposed to an affidavit stating that within few hours of launching the strategy, the party was getting about four to five text messages in a minute and had received a total of 5,400 SMS before the NCC directed the telecommunications service providers to discontinue the scheme.<br />
<br />
The party, however, claimed that NCC, in a letter dated January 19, instructed the other respondents to shut down the platform, warning them “to avoid running political advertisement/promotions that will portray them as being partisan”.<br />
<br />
The APC said the commission also threatened to sanction any of the telecommunication service providers which failed to comply with its order.<br />
<br />
The party, however, considered the NCC’s instruction and the consequent shutting down of its fund-raising platform as both discriminatory and an infringement on its fundamental rights as protected by Section 39 of the Constitution and Articles 9 (1) (2) and 19 of the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Cap A9, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.<br />
<br />
It argued that NCC did not give the same instruction to the other respondents when the Peoples Democratic Party set up such short code which was managed by one Wagitel Communications Ltd., to raise funds for the campaign of the party in 2010.<br />

<b>The All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned against any orchestrated, last-minute disqualification of its presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, in order to pave the way for an easy victory for President Goodluck Jonathan or even another postponement of the elections.</b></div>

About 10 suits seeking the disqualification of Mr. Buhari on grounds of lack of requisite educational qualification are presently being heard at the Federal High Court Abuja.</div>

The suits were instituted by different persons at different courts, but were later consolidated.</div>

Progress on the suits have been stalled due to arguments over whether Mr. Buhari and the APC can be served through the media.</div>

<b>With 4 days to the opening of the Nigerian presidential polls and the electoral commission having closed its doors on collection of permanent voter cards (PVCs) which are to be used by the electorate in voting their desired candidates, I have come up with a 'conservative' prediction on how the ballots may go.</b></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
In drawing my conclusions, I painstakingly collected available data and did some analysis which informed my decision on the direction the polls may take.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>REGISTERED VOTERS</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Statistics from INEC put total registered voters figure at 68,833,476 with the South having 31,456,296 (45.70%) and the North 37,377,198 (54.30%).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>ELIGIBLE VOTERS (Those with PVCs)</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Of the 68,833,476 registered voters, a total of 56,431,255 (or 81.98%) have so far collected their PVCs as at the close of collection date on March 21. 24,278,728 (77.18%) of registered voters in the South were able to collect their PVCs while 32,152,527 (86.02%) of Northern registered voters now have PVCs. Thus, of the total collected PVCs, 43.02% were from the South and 56.98% from the North.</div>

<b>EXPECTED VOTER TURNOUT</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In my estimation, some 45,145,004 of the eligible voters will go to the booths to cast their ballots on election day. This is a projection of 80% voter turnout. This translates to 19,422,982 from the South and 25,722,022 from the North. In the past elections, some 65% of registered/eligible voters had turn out to excercise their civic rights. However, the turnout is expected to be higher this time as a result of increased voter awareness, desire of Nigerians for good governance in terms of transformational change, among other factors. The expected per centage turnout is generalized because I do not have sufficient data to break down the turnout in the 2011 elections on State-by-State basis.</div>

<b>ESTIMATED VOID VOTES</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As a rule of the thumb, I estimate that 5% of those who turn out to vote will cast their ballots wrongly thereby voiding their votes. The main reason for this is the unimpressive voter education on the parts of the political parties, especially in the rural areas. Like my generalized projection on the expected turnout, per cent of void votes is also generalized at 5% because of lack of sufficient data from previous election(s). Therefore, some 971,149 ballots from the South and 1,276,101 votes from the North will be void. Thus, bringing estimated total void votes to 2,257,250.</div>

<b>VALID BALLOTS (PROJECTED)</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Having made a 5% provision for void votes, some 42,887,754 votes of the expected 45,145,004 voter turnout will cast their votes correctly. This means that 18,451,833 of Southern electorate (from 19,422,982 turnout) and 24,435,921 of Northern voters (from likely 25,722,022 voters) will cast their ballots correctly.</div>

<b>OTHER PARTIES</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is a known fact that the battle for Aso Rock is a straight one between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). Despite this, other political parties in the race will also have some ballots cast for them. Some of these votes will come from 'confused' electorate who will be unable to identify their desired party logos - an effect of inadequate voter education. A blanket 10% provision is made for this. Thus, an estimated 4,288,775 (1,845,183 from the South and 2,443,592 from the North) votes will go to other political parties while the remaining 90% (38,598,978) will be shared between the PDP and the APC.</div>

<b>THE MAIN CONTENDERS</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have decided to go with the projections made by the PUNCH newspaper which you can find <b><a href="http://nigerianewsroom.blogspot.com/2015/03/jonathan-vs-buhari-how-they-stand-in-36.html">here</a></b>. The newspaper had projected some States will be won by either of the main parties and some other States as "too close to call". For this reason, I assumed that any State that will be won by either party will be so won with 75% of the votes (that is, the remaining 90% of the valid votes) while the other party will go with the remaining 25%. I also assumed that ballots in those States seen to be too close to call will be shared equally by the two parties.</div>

Given the above, and using the PUNCH newspaper map, it was projected that the PDP will win in the entire South-East, South-South (excluding Edo); North-Central States of Benue, Kogi and Plateau; and Taraba State in the North-East. No victory is projected for PDP in the South-West and North-West, the two geo-political zones with highest number of registered and eligible (PVC-holders) voters.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The APC is, however, projected to win in the entire North-West (except Kaduna); the entire South-West (minus Ondo); the North-East (excluding Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba) and Kwara State in the North-Central. No win is envisaged for the APC in the entire South-East and South-South, the two zones seen as the stronghold of the PDP candidate, Goodluck Jonathan.</div>

The PUNCH newspaper predictions say votes will be too close to call in Edo (South-South); Ondo (South-West); FCT, Nasarawa and Niger (North-Central); Kaduna (North-West) and Adamawa and Gombe (North-East).</div>

In line with this, <b>I predict the PDP scoring 17,251,195 votes</b> (or 40%) - 9,276,181 from the South and 7,975,014 from the North - <b>and the APC polling 21,347,783 votes</b> (or 50%) - 7,330,469 from the South and 14,017,314 from the North.</div>

<b>CONCLUSION</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I predict the APC emerging victorious in the polls with majority valid votes and securing the constitutional 25% of valid ballots in all 36 States and the FCT. The PDP, though losing to the opposition on a 'slim' margin, will garner the mandatory 25% of ballots in all 36 States and the FCT.</div>
