President Sirleaf Johnson for example has various organizations, for example I just met with the Ambassador here, and you can listen to my interview with the Ambassador and one of the things the Ambassador said to me was that, he gets too many offers. So it depends if your community says they want to focus on the orphans then I will write a report and I will take pictures.</div>

One question I was get, “How do you work with president Obasanjo” because if you read about him you will see that he fought the war in Nigeria. He’s the guy all other leaders call up on for help. Him and I are always travelling. Last time we were in Ghana and this guy had a problem we had to help get money from Goodluck because he did not have enough money. We did so much secret things. Then Obasanjo said to me that the reason he's doing all these things in front of me and with me is because he trusts me. First time I met him was in Brussels, he was giving a key note address, and he said to me. Come to Africa, and I was like "I’ve not been to that country since I left" and he said to me 'Just come'. The card readers, which were used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), show that only 437,128 voters were accredited during the April 11 election. However, the same electoral commissioner fraudulently awarded the winner of the election, Udom Emmanuel of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 996,071. In similar vein, INEC arbitrarily allocated 89,865 votes to Umana Okon Umana, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).</div>

A source at INEC told <b>SaharaReporters</b> that the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State simply colluded with Governor Goodwill Akpabio and the PDP machinery in Akwa Ibom State to massively rig the polls. The source said the reality on the ground at the election could not justify the huge number of votes allocated to the PDP candidate in the governorship election.</div>

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Rivers awarded Mr. Wike votes almost five times higher than the actual, authentic total number of voters accredited with card readers and Permanent Voter Cards which was 292,878, PREMIUM TIMES investigation has revealed.</div>

According to the result declared by the Returning Officer for Rivers State, Osasere Orumwense on April 13, Mr. Wike was awarded 1,029,102 votes, representing 87.77 per cent of 1,228,614, being the conjured number of total accredited voters.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
However, according to a bulky 94-page INEC endorsed document exclusively obtained by <b>PREMIUM TIMES</b>, the total number of accredited voters for the April 11 guber election in Rivers was 292,878.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The document was signed by Ibrahim Bawa, the acting director in charge of INEC Legal Unit and Abimbola Oladunjoye, head of unit, Data Management, of the Commission’s Information Communication Technology Department.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Checks by PREMIUM TIMES indicate that it is practically impossible for Mr. Wike or any other candidate in the election to garner votes exceeding the total number of accredited voters, not to talk of amassing such hyper-inflated figure of 1,029,102 awarded Mr. Wike.</div>

In Nigeria’s current electoral system, INEC’s central server automatically generates figures of voters accredited with the electronic Smart Card Readers and Permanent Voters’ Cards across the polling units.</div>

INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, said before the election that the arrangement was to prevent electoral fraud, especially falsification of number of accredited voters, to inflate number of votes cast, as in the case of PDP and Mr. Wike, and of course INEC in Rivers State.</div>

Insiders in INEC told PREMIUM TIMES that the number of accredited voters generated by the commission’s central server is the valid, actual and authentic one for the Rivers State April 11 elections and that it would impossible for anyone to justify the excess votes allocated to Mr. Wike.</div>

In the document, detailing polling unit by polling unit analysis of actual voters’ accreditation for the election, none of the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) had up to 51, 000 accredited voters.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Rivers State is currently delineated into 319 Registration Areas (Wards) and 4,442 polling units.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Port Harcourt LGA had the highest number of accredited voters with 50,962, while Khana LGA had just 145 registered voters turning up for accreditation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our LGA by LGA analysis of the accredited votes shows that Obio/Akpor had 40,481 accredited voters and it was the only LGA with more than 40,000 but lower than 50,000.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ogba/Egbema/Ndonu LGA had 24,816 accredited voters, while Ikwere LGA had 22,274.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Seven LGAs had between 10,000 and 20,000 accredited voters, according to the INEC endorsed document. They are Ahoada East (16,116 accredited voters); Ahoada West (16,369); Bonny (15,503); Degema (16,993); Akuku-Toru (12,439); Andoni (13,530); and Gokana (12,127).</div>

Others were Asari-Toru (7,328); Emohua (5,014); Okrika (8,790); Opobo Nekoro (7,313); and Oyingbo (9,503); Abual-Odual (2,054); Omuma (1,998); Etche (1,268); Eleme (3,530); Khana (145); Ogu/Bolo (903); and Tai (3,362).</div>

INEC insiders said the only ground that could explain the number of accredited voters in the election exceeding 292,887 is if manual accreditation were used in addition to the use of card readers.</div>

But INEC did not approve the use of manual accreditation for governorship election in any of the states of the Federation.</div>

“The Independent National Electoral Commission wishes to inform all Nigerians that Card Readers will be used for the April 11, 2015 Elections,” Augusta Ogakwu, Secretary to the Commission, said in a statement on April 6.</div>

The controversial contracts meant for the provision of  third party towage services (TPTS) at Warri and Onne ports pilotage districts have come under intense scrutiny following revelations by sources close to the Federal Ministry of Transport (FMOT) in Abuja that the award of the contracts by NPA to the two firms did not follow due process .</div>

Added to the fact that the companies are not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), they also do not have a known address.</div>

Finding by <b>The NATION</b>, indicates that the president's approval for the contracts was contained in a letter last year to the NPA through the Federal Ministry of Transport dated August 14, 2014.</div>

The short duration of three days in which the approval was made has also raised suspicion  considering the bureaucracy that slows down such  transactions.</div>

"Was the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) involved before the President gave his approval and the contract was awarded by NPA? What was the role of the supervising minister in this regard? Answers to these questions are very essential because if I am approving a contract to any company and my minister and the officials of the agency cannot verify for me whether the company is registered; then I don't know what they are doing as the head of that organisation.</div>

<b>The Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation has sacked its London-based Chief Executive Officer, Anne Welsh, following video evidence allegedly showing that she had been involved in money laundering activities for many years.</b></div>

It was learnt that Welsh, a former investment banker, met the former president during a conference in Brussels, Belgium in 2011 when she was the Chairperson of the Sickle Cell Society.</div>

The video footage, which was discreetly shot by one of the participants at a United Kingdon meeting in December 2014, showed how Welsh allegedly plotted a $4.9m (₦980m) scheme to exploit the Ebola Virus Disease tragedy in West Africa through helping a group of ‘Lebanese businessmen’ who wished to donate money to Obasanjo Foundation for some work in Sierra Leone.  The video, which was obtained by SaharaReporters and viewed by <b>Saturday PUNCH</b>, revealed that the group demanded that it would make a donation of $2m (₦400m) to the foundation if it helped it launder the balance of $2.9m.</div>

Welsh assured the potential ‘donors’ that it would not be a problem as she was well-grounded in the art of being discreet.</div>

“I had to go through training, through president Obasanjo, political training for one year to become discreet,” she said in the video.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She added, “Sometimes, we get dollars from people who give money to our foundation and they say they don’t want it to be known that they donated the money, but they want to have a letter on our letterhead paper and a letter from Obasanjo just to say ‘Thank you for your kind donations to the foundation for the work to support Ebola’. That’s it. That is what we normally do.”</div>

The group, however, told her they did not care how the money given to the foundation was spent as long as their interest was protected.  Welsh then demanded from the group an interest of 30 per cent of the $2.9m. “At least 30 per cent; think about the hard work I’m going to put into this, you will be so grateful to me,” she proposed.</div>

The video evidence also showed that the group agreed to give her the 30 per cent, which was $900,000 (₦180m), and detailed how the money would be transferred via a Nigerian bank which she uses.</div>

In an apparent reaction to the allegations, the Obasanjo Foundation had sacked Welsh for plotting to help some Lebanese businessmen to launder millions of dollars. The former president, Obasanjo, told <b>SaharaReporters</b> that he and other trustees of the organisation as well as staff members of the foundation were deeply saddened and disturbed by the allegations against Welsh.</div>

He said the foundation had forced her to resign and had launched a full-scale investigation into the allegations. He also said the matter had been reported to the London Metropolitan Police and the UK Charity Commission for a thorough probe.</div>

"We have asked the two authorities to investigate the matter exhaustively", Obasanjo said.</div>

In her reaction, Welsh confirmed details of the meeting, stating that she was indeed present, but denied that any wrongdoing took place.  She also confirmed that she clearly stated her name over the course of the meeting, but refused to disclose any of the "so much secret things" she said she had done with Obasanjo.</div>

A <b>PREMIUM TIMES</b> correspondent, who met the accident victims in company with other sympathizers, reported that Speaker Adekunbi got to the scene of the crash in his official car barely few minutes after the accident occurred, but drove past the scene even while bodies laid on bare ground and injured victims wreathed in pains.</div>

He was in a convoy of his official cars, reportedly heading towards Lagos. Onlookers wondered why he failed to demonstrate compassion and lend helping hands to the victims.</div>

Witnesses say rather than stop to help in the rescue operation, the Speaker merely peeped at the accident scene through his car window and then ordered his driver to drive on.</div>
