The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the mother of all elections with the victory of Akinwunmi Ambode in Lagos State.
Ambode polled a total of 811,994 votes to defeat Mr Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 659,788 votes.
With this victory, the APC has consolidated its hold on Lagos which has been an opposition controlled state since the return of participatory democracy in 1999.
However, the Centre of Excellence will for the first time in over 16 years taste being in alignment with the central governing body.
