Though, official declaration by the INEC is still being expected, a strong indication emerged that the former Minister of the FCT and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has won the governorship election.
In a post on his Facebook, El-Rufai said he had received a phone call from incumbent Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congratulating him (El-Rufai) on his victory at the polls.
