At least 12 people were killed and four critically injured after masked gunmen stormed the Paris office of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in what French officials are calling a terror attack. Photos and video taken from a nearby rooftop during and after the shooting show what appear to be the suspects opening fire on the street before fleeing in a car.
According to witnesses, one suspect could be heard shouting, "We have avenged the Prophet Muhammad!" - an apparent reference to the paper's 2011 caricature that angered Muslims and led to a firebombing of its offices. Another video shows someone taking cover behind a parked car as gunfire rings out.
Another photo shows what appears to be the suspects' car stopped on a side street in a confrontation with police.
