Barely 24 hours after Kano Textile market was bombed by two female suicide bombers , the police in Kano have uncovered and detonated a high calibre Improvised Explosive Device at Dawanu, a popular food market in the ancient town.
Dawanu is the largest grains market in sub-sahara Africa.
Eyewitness told Vanguard that the bomb was concealed in a sack that was hidden at the busy market.
The Kano police commissioner, Adelenre Shinaba confirmed the incident, adding that “we have successfully detonated the bomb and I can assure you that we have restored normalcy to the market.”
More details later.
