Of the about 8,000 accredited delegates at the All Progressives Congress presidential primaries, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, whose votes were counted first, polled 954 votes. The counting of his votes ended at 14:00 GMT (3:00pm local Nigerian time).
It appears unlikely that the former Vice President (between 1999-2007) will carry the day. Many have ruled that General Muhammadu Buhari will win going by the number of ballots sorted at the event that started yesterday (Wednesday, December 10, 2014) and is still on (on Thursday, December 11).
A winner will be announced in a matter of hours in the keenly contested primaries that paraded Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Alhaji Rabiu Kwakwanso and Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah.
