President Goodluck Jonathan and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari are to engage in popularity contest tomorrow Monday as their campaigners jostle for Nigerians attention.
While the pro-Jonathan campaigners asked Nigerians to put on white wristbands or hold white handkerchiefs on Monday December 22, the Buharists have asked Nigerians to show support by putting his photo and that of his running mate as their display photos on social media.
Analysts believe that the request by the Jonathanians is coming in response to what the Buharists have demanded which seems to be boosting the popularity of the APC candidate.
A pro-Buhari group, Buhari For Change, told the Nigeria Newsroom that the response by the Jonathanians is an indication of panic.
"They are being reactive. They are shocked by the massive support Buhari is getting", said Convener of the group Kola Okanlawon.
Nigerians are already getting set to monitor who gets the highest support of Nigerians as Monday draws nearer.
