After being declared winner of the just concluded presidential elections and returned elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, gave an acceptance speech.
In his speech, Buhari commended incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan for his statesmanship in conceding defeat and respecting the wish of Nigerians as expressed through the ballots.
He also extended his hands of fellowship to President Jonathan promising to accord him full understanding and respect.
The president-elect declared that the victory at the polls is not his but Nigerians, and the glory for God.
He promised that the incoming APC government with not rule Nigerians but rather serve the people.
