Chelsea’s decision to sell Juan Mata to Manchester United in January seemed legit at the time, with Jose Mourinho doubting his ability.
But Mata’s stats since leaving Stamford Bridge show perhaps the Special One got this call wrong, with the Spanish play-maker doing even better than Chelsea’s star man Eden Hazard.
Indeed, based on Premier League stats, Mata has racked up most assists and gone a shorter time between assists than Hazard, while also matching his 11 goal haul.
Not bad at all, especially considering Mata has made several appearances from the bench.
Were Chelsea wrong to sell? Hmmm.
