<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>ABUJA, NIGERIA - A day after some members of the All Progressives Congress in the House of Representatives said they would consider the proposed list of principal Officers by the Speaker, some members loyal to Mr Femi Gbajabiamila claim there is a plan to prevent them from entering the chamber on resumption day.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The latest development sets aside every feeling that the leadership tussle in the House of Representatives had been resolved, <b><a href="http://www.channelstv.com/2015/07/26/dogara-plans-to-lock-us-out-gbajabiamila-camp-claims/">Channels TV</a></b> reports.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Briefing journalists in Abuja on Sunday, the spokesman for the group, Mr Nasir Zango-Daura, warned that members of his group would not tolerate any plans by the Speaker, Mr Yakubu Dogara, to prevent lawmakers from going into the House of Representatives chamber on Tuesday.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Representative Zango-Daura also said the members of the faction were not aware of any concessions offered to them by the Speaker of the House of Representatives and his supporters.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is in contrast with the position of the other faction as the spokesman for the consolidation group, Abdulmumin Jibrin, while briefing journalists on Saturday said the two factions had embraced peace in the interest of the country.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mr Dogara on July 17 sent a proposed list of principal officers of the House to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a way of resolving the lingering leadership tussle.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In a letter sent to the chairman of the party, Mr John Oyegun, the Speaker said the list, which took proper zoning into consideration, would best reflect the principle of federal character.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The letter was written in response to Mr Oyegun’s letter to him, asking him to appoint the party's nominees into key positions, a development that has shown that the rancour between the leadership of the House and the party’s leadership over the choice of principal officers of the House had not been resolved.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>LAGOS, NIGERIA - The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the PDP as a party cannot provide any worthwhile opposition to the APC-led Federal Government if its spokesman continues to issue convoluted and fustian statements just so that he can be in the news.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Today's statement is the most tortuous yet by the PDP and, honestly, sounds more like a compendium of beer parlour gossips and side talks than a serious criticism of a sitting government," the APC said in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"To be in opposition does not mean you have to constitute yourself to a nuisance by rushing to the press with all sorts of hot air statements. It is the quality, rather than the frequency, of your interventions that makes you relevant as an opposition in a democracy," the party said</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It said that in the light of the above, the APC will not dignify the latest in a series of confused statements by the PDP with any response. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"We can only say that we have been justified, and indeed prescient, in our earlier offer to organize a crash course for Olisa Metuh so that he can more effectively perform his role as the spokesman of the main opposition party.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Those who thought we were joking with that offer can now see that indeed, Mr. Metuh is seriously in need of some form of coaching on his new role,” APC said. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The party said for the record, no government in Nigeria's recent history has been as focused and systematic as the one headed by President Muhammadu Buhari in restoring good governance, especially coming after the worst stretch of governance, lasting all of 16 years, by the immoral and reckless PDP.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"It is worth noting that even the leader of the world’'s foremost democracy, President Barack Obama, said that much during the recent visit to the US of President Buhari, when he described him (President Buhari) as a man of integrity with a clear agenda. ”President Buhari is working hard every day in the priority areas of tackling security and corruption, rebooting the economy to provide jobs for our teeming youths and generally to restore good governance.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"We are sorry for those who are too blind with hatred to see this. ”We know that the PDP is terrified by the expose of how the Federal Government it led has looted the treasury and created an environment for impunity to thrive, as well as the fate that will befall those who were part of the show of shame and disgust.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"But we assure Nigerians that this government will not interfere with the work of the security and anti-corruption agencies, and also that under the Buhari Administration, only the guilty needs to be afraid. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"In the meantime, no amount of mumbo jumbo from the PDP will stop the Buhari Administration from its tough but inevitable task of restoring Nigeria's lost glory," APC said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>ABUJA, NIGERIA - Immediate past National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retd), has sworn that he never maltreated nor took part in maltreating President Muhammadu Buhari when he, as military Head of State, was removed in a 1985 coup, as being erroneously alleged.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He said: "I always respect and dignify my seniors and those in positions of authority whether in service or after. Though a young officer, I was reluctant to be among those that arrested him. And I was not.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"I only met him afterward at Bonny Camp with Lawal Rafindadi. There is no way I could have maltreated him as being alleged in some quarters. I am glad most of the actors are still alive."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The former NSA made the disclosure even as he stated that he knelt down begging Baba Bisi Akande, who was then Chairman of Action Congress Nigeria, ACN, to accept then General Buhari because "General Buhari is a man to be trusted."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dasuki, who spoke to blogger Yushua Shuaib in Abuja, also disclosed how he and some others confronted late General Sani Abacha over June 12 election, which was won by late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He said: "This led to our premature retirement. The persecution that followed forced me into exile, where I teamed up with opposition elements struggling for the return of democracy."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>My campaign for him</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On his roles in politics, the former NSA, who had been having running battles with the Department of State Services, DSS, narrated how he supported the campaign aspiration of Muhammadu Buhari in 2003, 2007 and 2011 presidential elections.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He said respected Northern elements like Adamu Adamu, Bashir Kurfi, Sule Hamman, Wada Maida and Kabir Yusuf are among individuals privy to his active involvement.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
While revealing how he campaigned for Buhari to emerge the joint candidate of ACN and CPC in 2011, Dasuki disclosed how he pleaded with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the presence of Bisi Akande to accept Muhammad Buhari as the joint presidential candidate for ACN and CPC.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Dasuki said: "In the belief that Yoruba and south-westerners are never religious fanatics, especially regarding politics, me and my group suggested that Tinubu should be a running mate to Buhari.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"When other elements opposed that proposition, Tinubu team therefore recommended a Buhari-Osinbajo ticket. Unfortunately, the ticket failed to stick as Pastor Tunde Bakare was eventually pushed forward by other forces."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Speaking further, the former NSA recalled how prior to the 1983 coup that ousted President Shehu Shagari, himself and two young military officers, who are still alive, travelled to Jos to brief Major General Buhari, who was then the GOC of 3rd Armoured Division, on the furtherance of the planning of the 1983 coup, which made Buhari the major beneficiary.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He said: "Buhari expressed his bitterness about insinuations on his stewardship in one of the public institutions, but I assured the then GOC not to worry about such reckless and mischievous insinuations."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Asked why he participated in the ouster of Buhari less than two years afterward ousting Shagari, Dasuki simply answered that General Buhari should know who to blame.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>We hear it over and over: Our phones are a deadly distraction in the car.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>It's easy to dismiss the message because it's pretty much on repeat.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But here's the thing: A phone is a deadly distraction. And even those of us who have made a commitment never to text while driving might still be putting ourselves, our loved ones, and strangers at risk.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You probably know what's coming in this video, but I encourage you to watch it anyway.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I held my breath for a little too long, and even though I knew how it was going to end, it still hit me pretty hard.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What stood out most is that the woman in the video wasn't even texting. It truly doesn't take much to change the course of our lives forever.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We talk a lot about teens and their dangerous driving habits - so many viral videos about texting and driving feature teens - but the truth is that we adults aren't doing the best job leaving our phones alone either.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Keep this bit of info from AT&T in mind:</div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
Here's the jaw dropper: A recent <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/03/28/adults-worse-than-teens-about-texting-behind-wheel/2026331/">AT& T survey</a> shows that it's adults, not teens (as might be suspected), that lead the trend on texting and driving. Almost half of all adults admit to texting while driving compared with 43% of teenagers. Of those polled, more than 98% of adults - almost all of them - admit they know it's wrong. That survey revealed that 41% of teens say they've seen their parents text and drive too.</blockquote>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There are a few ways to ensure we stay as distraction-free as possible when driving.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can put your phone out of reach, like <a href="https://www.facebook.com/momastery/posts/10153464554729710">Glennon of Momastery</a> and her husband agreed to do after watching this video.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="400" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OVnRcIXEqaU" width="700"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And, if you're really committed, there's an app for that.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.drivemode&hl=en">download an app</a>, like DriveMode, that prevents you from sending or receiving calls and texts when you're driving. While it won't prevent you from scrolling or checking social media, it's a start.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Whatever it takes, the point is that we all need to find a way to leave our phones alone while we're driving.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
An Instagram selfie or a Facebook status update just isn't worth it.</div>

Minister Gets Parcel Containing AK47 Bullet With A Message Asking Him To Drop His Political Aspiration

<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>ZIMBABWE - The deadly fights within President Robert Mugabe's warring Zanu PF took an ominous turn yesterday after Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs minister Martin Dinha, received an AK47 bullet and a threatening message telling him to step down or risk suffering the same fatal fate that befell the late Zanu PF political commissar, Elliot Manyika, who died in a suspicious car accident in 2008.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although efforts to talk to Dinha last night were not successful, well-placed Zanu PF sources said "the parcel" with the bullet and threatening message was delivered to the minister's office just after midnight yesterday morning - amid "clear indications" that this was the work of hardliners angling to succeed Mugabe in the nonagenarian's fast-imploding party.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
 According to <b><a href="http://www.myzimbabwe.co.zw/news/3725-we-ll-kill-you-like-we-did-elliot-manyika-minister-martin-dinha-told-gets-parcel-with-ak47-bullet.html">My Zimbabwe</a></b>, the lawyer-turned-politician, a lightweight in Zanu PF, was said to be "very shaken and in hiding".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although once linked to ousted former Vice President Joice Mujuru, Dinha is now said to be very close to the First Family - which has apparently displeased some hawks among Zanu PF's ambitious young Turks, who are known as the Generation 40 (G40) camp.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is claimed that the G40 is not only impatient to take over from Mugabe and other ageing party bigwigs such as Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, but also that they "desire sole and unfettered influence" over the nonagenarian's influential wife, Grace - who insiders say will have a major say over who succeeds her husband.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was Dinha who recently had the nasty job of chasing away poor villagers from Manzou Farm in Mazowe, allegedly to pave way for a game sanctuary for Grace - who already owns vast tracts of land in the area.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the sources who spoke to the news crew last night, and who is close to Dinha - who has survived several attempts to oust him from his ministerial post over the past few months - said the AK47 bullet and the threatening message had been delivered to his offices in the wee hours of Monday morning by an identified man.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Someone went to the minister's office and left an envelope with the security guards. As is the norm, when Dinha's secretary arrived in the morning, the envelope was handed to her and she duly opened it and discovered the disturbing contents.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"She immediately phoned her boss, who was shaken by this development. As we speak, he has gone into hiding. For your own information, Manyika was given a death threat before he was eliminated. So the minister is taking the threats seriously," the source said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A menacing message accompanied the AK47 bullet and read:</div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
Game over Dinha, resign now or else we get you. Dinha your time is up and you messed with the wrong guys.</blockquote>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But police in Bindura professed ignorance regarding the matter, with the force's Mashonaland Central head, Munorwei Shava Matutu, saying he had not been informed about the matter.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"I am hearing this for the first time from you. I am not aware, maybe you can phone the minister's office," he said.</div>
