The former NSA made the disclosure even as he stated that he knelt down begging Baba Bisi Akande, who was then Chairman of Action Congress Nigeria, ACN, to accept then General Buhari because "General Buhari is a man to be trusted."</div>

He said: "This led to our premature retirement. The persecution that followed forced me into exile, where I teamed up with opposition elements struggling for the return of democracy."</div>

While revealing how he campaigned for Buhari to emerge the joint candidate of ACN and CPC in 2011, Dasuki disclosed how he pleaded with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the presence of Bisi Akande to accept Muhammad Buhari as the joint presidential candidate for ACN and CPC.</div>

Dasuki said: "In the belief that Yoruba and south-westerners are never religious fanatics, especially regarding politics, me and my group suggested that Tinubu should be a running mate to Buhari.</div>

Speaking further, the former NSA recalled how prior to the 1983 coup that ousted President Shehu Shagari, himself and two young military officers, who are still alive, travelled to Jos to brief Major General Buhari, who was then the GOC of 3rd Armoured Division, on the furtherance of the planning of the 1983 coup, which made Buhari the major beneficiary.</div>

He said: "Buhari expressed his bitterness about insinuations on his stewardship in one of the public institutions, but I assured the then GOC not to worry about such reckless and mischievous insinuations."</div>

Although efforts to talk to Dinha last night were not successful, well-placed Zanu PF sources said "the parcel" with the bullet and threatening message was delivered to the minister's office just after midnight yesterday morning - amid "clear indications" that this was the work of hardliners angling to succeed Mugabe in the nonagenarian's fast-imploding party.</div>

 According to <b><a href="http://www.myzimbabwe.co.zw/news/3725-we-ll-kill-you-like-we-did-elliot-manyika-minister-martin-dinha-told-gets-parcel-with-ak47-bullet.html">My Zimbabwe</a></b>, the lawyer-turned-politician, a lightweight in Zanu PF, was said to be "very shaken and in hiding".</div>

Although once linked to ousted former Vice President Joice Mujuru, Dinha is now said to be very close to the First Family - which has apparently displeased some hawks among Zanu PF's ambitious young Turks, who are known as the Generation 40 (G40) camp.</div>

It is claimed that the G40 is not only impatient to take over from Mugabe and other ageing party bigwigs such as Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, but also that they "desire sole and unfettered influence" over the nonagenarian's influential wife, Grace - who insiders say will have a major say over who succeeds her husband.</div>

"She immediately phoned her boss, who was shaken by this development. As we speak, he has gone into hiding. For your own information, Manyika was given a death threat before he was eliminated. So the minister is taking the threats seriously," the source said.</div>

A menacing message accompanied the AK47 bullet and read:</div>

<b>MUZARABANI, ZIMBABWE - Five members of the same family were charged with the murder of a prophet who had been called to their their home in the village of Mazonde, Zimbabwe to help them cleanse their house of evil spirits.</b></div>

According to local newspaper, <b>Zed 24 News</b>, the accused family identified as Leanmore Mutero, Tonderai Muswere, Michael Muchengeti, Manasa Mutero and Nicholas Mutero, appeared at the High Court in Harare facing a murder charge for participating in the death of self-professed Prophet Shamiso Kanyama, who accidentally died during a healing ceremony.</div>

Pastor Kanyama had reportedly asked his followers to bury him alive so that he could summon more cleansing powers to heal the family that had been plagued by mysterious deaths.</div>

<i>Zed 24 News </i>reports that High Court Justice Owen Tagu heard how on that day, the late pastor had been invited to attend the home in the Muzarabani district, which is situated along the Mozambique-Zimbabwe border, by their priest, Zvidzai Muchengeti.</div>

The five men had requested the priest to help them clean their home of evil spirits, because it was causing mysterious deaths in their family.</div>

Responding to their request to perform a healing ceremony, Kanyama had ordered his followers to dig a grave and bury him alive because that was the way he summoned more healing powers to ward off evil spirits. However, the plan backfired on the prophet when instead of being resurrected as he supposed, the men dug up the grave again to find him dead.</div>

Kanyama helped to dig his own grave before praying and jumping inside, Father Zvidzai, who has turned State witness, told the High Court. He continued that after laying face down in the grave, he ordered his followers to start covering him with soil.</div>

"He pegged a grave-shaped pit in front of my hut and asked for help to dig the pit," Zvidzai continued. "Deceased requested to be buried alive so that he would gain power to drive away the evil forces."</div>

Fearing for the life of the prophet as the men were in the process of filling the grave, he requested the men to stop what they were doing, Joseph Taderera told Justice Tagu.</div>

However, they ignored his pleas when Kanyama urged them to continue the process of burying him alive, stating that he would rise from the grave unharmed.</div>

"I warned the men about the danger of their actions, but my advice fell on deaf ears because Kanyama shouted, telling me that I am disturbing his angels, and urged them to continue filling the grave, saying that he would later come out alive," Taderera said.</div>

Jonathan had anticipated a peace session between him and the President at the instance of the Abdulsalami Committee, which played a major role in ensuring peace during the general elections.</div>

Gen. Abdulsalami was said to have tried to reach out to the President about five times but state duties did not allow a meeting.</div>
