<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>The PDP has called on all political parties and other stakeholders in the electoral process to join hands with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to make the 2015 general elections a success.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh, in a statement in Abuja on Sunday, said all parties must come together in the interest of the nation and ensure that measures that create the environment for credible, free and fair elections were firmly put in place.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He said, "The responsibility of building a united, strong and prosperous nation anchored on democratic principles lies on all of us collectively.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"We therefore charge all political parties, other relevant groups and all stakeholders in the electoral process to jettison all personal/group interests and put that of our nation and its people ahead of all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"The future of our nation is determined by what we do or say at this point in time. We must therefore resolve to work together as patriotic citizens and join hands with INEC and relevant institutions of government to ensure credible, free and fair elections devoid of rancour and disagreements.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"At this point, what should be paramount is the well-being of our people and the survival of our dear nation and its democracy.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"We must therefore close ranks as brothers and sisters and resist the machinations of enemies of our country who do not wish us well."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Metuh called on the political parties to redirect their energy to issues that promote national development, reinforce unity among Nigerians and engender mutual understanding and peaceful co-existence.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Metuh said, "Nigeria is a great nation. We must appreciate the resilience of our people and their resolve to succeed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Indeed, we cannot afford to fail our citizens at this time of our national life. We must work hard to continue to ensure that the environment that contributed to the successes we have recorded is adequately maintained and enhanced".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He also called on INEC to gird it loins and appreciate the fact that it was "saddled with an enormous responsibility and that “Nigerians expect nothing less than a transparent electoral process".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Metuh said the commission should understand that "observations by stakeholders are not intended to castigate, weaken or destroy the electoral process but to assist in deepening democracy so that at the end of the day, Nigerians will be the ultimate winners".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also on Sunday, the National Auditor of the PDP, Adewole Adeyanju, advised INEC to allow eligible voters to use their Temporary Voter Cards during the elections.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Adeyanju advised INEC to commence the use of the Permanent Voters Cards during the bye elections that might arise from the March 28 and April 11 polls to test its card readers.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and his All Progressives Congress counterpart, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) may meet before the March 28 presidential elections.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The <b><a href="http://www.punchng.com/news/jonathan-buhari-may-hold-fence-mending-meeting/">PUNCH</a></b> gathered on Sunday that the meeting which might hold outside the country was to establish rapport between the two contenders before the election.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A source close to the Presidency said, “We are trying to broker a meeting between the two leaders.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“The way the presidential electioneering is going may create serious divisions among Nigerians. We need to stop this.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Apart from this, I think there is serious apprehension in the camp of the President that if Buhari wins, he’s going to jail a lot of President Jonathan’s supporters for alleged corruption.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"This is one of the issues that is causing serious tension in the camp of the President and we also need to make sure that in whatever we do, there must be peace in the country."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was learnt that the claim by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that Jonathan was afraid that Buhari could jail him was real after all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A top member of the ruling PDP, who also spoke with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity said, this fact could not be denied by the party and the Presidency.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He said, "You have listened to the press conference by our campaign office and we didn't deny that aspect. But we dealt with other issues.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"That statement by former President Obasanjo is real. It is true and we all know that. But we know that very soon, the meeting which we are hearing is being coordinated by some concerned leaders, might address that."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Obasanjo had on Saturday said, "I believe the President’s fear is particularly motivated by whom he sees as his likely successor, that is, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. I believe people would have been telling him that Buhari is a hard man; he will fight corruption and he (Jonathan) may end up in jail if not in the grave. I think people would have told him that sort of thing and he is not the only one afraid of Buhari."</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan has ruled out investigating the scandalous audio tape of the collusion between military officers and top guns in the Peoples Democratic Party to rig last year’s June 21 election in Ekiti State.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
President Jonathan told <b>The Wall Street Journal</b> that the audio was a fabrication despite the confirmation of its authenticity by U.S.-based voice-verification firm, Guardian Consulting LLC.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"It’s all fabrications", he said of the audio. "Why should I investigate things that are not real?"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jonathan's shocking indifference to the scandal that gravely questioned the integrity of the governorship election, said to have been won by Ayodele Fayose of the PDP, triggered melancholic reaction from Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress, who allegedly lost.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"It’s very sad", Fayemi told the Wall Street Journal. "The military has lost any democratic control."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Starring in the scandal were Brigadier-General Aliyu Momoh, Ayodele Fayose, Musiliu Obanikoro, Caleb Olubolade, a former minister and Alhaji Adesiyan, Police Affairs Minister, Senator Iyiola Omisore, a failed governorship candidate in Osun State.</div>

IBB, Dasuki, Mark Feature In Jonathan’s Plan To Extend Tenure

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>The full details of how President Goodluck Jonathan intends to extend his tenure with or without going through the electoral process have been uncovered.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
An online medium learnt exclusively that success of the tenure elongation plan is anchored on the constitutional provision that gave the President power to extend his tenure by six months if there is uprising in any part of the country and the active connivance of the country’s Upper Legislative Chamber, the Senate.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Impeccable sources from the Presidency told this medium that the first plan is to ensure that the election did not even take place at all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The plan was to fuel uprising in the country giving the impression that the country is not safe for election to take place.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b><a href="http://www.thegazellenews.com/2015/02/13/exclusive-details-of-jonathans-plan-to-extend-tenure-gej-earmarks-n100m-for-each-senator-mark-dasuki-ibb-support-diezani-to-provide-cash/">The Gazelle News</a></b> learnt that the recent inflammatory statement by Niger Delta militants as a prelude to cause mayhem in the country was part of the plan.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The medium also learnt that the militants have been financially mobilised to cause problem if there is the need for it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The postponement of the election was a grand plan by the presidency to scuttle the whole electoral process.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was learnt that Jonathan became desperate when all the opinion polls including those conducted by various security agencies which are only privy to him and his kitchen cabinet showed that he would lose the presidential election to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari by wide margin.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first assignment he gave the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, was to ensure that the election did not take place in February as earlier scheduled. This has been achieved.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now, Jonathan wants to go further. However, his plan A of the election not taking place at all seems out of reach with the global attention focusing on Nigeria and the general elections.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jonathan’s plan B now is to ensure that the election did take place but will be declared inconclusive paving the way for the extension of the tenure of the present administration.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Senator Babafemi Ojudu, All Progressives Congress (APC), Ekiti Central Senatorial District, stated this week of the plan of the Jonathan administration to extend its tenure by two years.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Further investigation by revealed that the Senate President, Senator David Mark; former Military President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB); and the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki are the arrowheads of the plan.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
David Mark has already assured that the Senate will support the extension. Huge sum of money with the minimum being ₦50 million has been earmarked for each Senator with the possibility that it can rise to ₦100 million each.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mark, a retired military officer; IBB and Dasuki are also coordinating the support needed from the security agencies.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Realising that there will be stiff resistance to his plans, Jonathan has also ordered the military to deal decisively with any obstacle to the success of his plan.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The ‘invasion’ of residence of the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; and the Imo State Government House by armed soldiers this week was part of the present administration plan to intimidate opposition to its plan and cowed it into submission.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jonathan was able to secure the support of IBB to his plan by reminding him of the fact that Buhari still had an axe to grind with him hence a Buhari would into jail term for him (IBB).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>President Goodluck Jonathan risks losing his home state to the opposition in the forthcoming elections except the feud in Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is resolved, indications emerged yesterday.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The crisis rocking the party assumed dangerous dimension at the weekend following suspension of the party chairman, Col. Sam Inokoba (retd), over allegations that he diverted ₦70 million donated to the PDP by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But the chairman denied wrong doing in distributing the largesse.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He rather blamed his travails on the second term ambition of Governor Seriake Dickson.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Inokoba was said to have claimed that his refusal to sack some loyal members of the party as directed by the governor was responsible for his travails.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He specifically claimed the governor ordered him to suspend party members accused of belonging to the camp of the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The deepening crisis in the party originated from the reported ambition of the First Lady to oust Dickson and replace him with her preferred choice.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The First Lady was said to have hijacked the state chapter of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) as a platform to carry out activities aimed at actualising her ambition.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To fight back, the governor has been weeding off persons believed to be loyal to the First Lady in his cabinet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Though Jonathan had declared those against the governor his enemies, it was gathered that the inability of the president to call his wife to order had fuelled the party’s impasse.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A source from the party said the president risks protest votes in the forthcoming elections unless he takes practical steps to end the imbroglio.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The source, who spoke in confidence, said the supporters of Dickson were not happy with the excesses of Jonathan’s wife and her plots against the governor.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"We have never seen this kind of scenario before. The governor is working to give Mrs. Jonathan and her husband a second term while the First Lady is working to deny Dickson a second term or even sack him before the end of his tenure.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"The governor is working to maintain peace in the state and to ensure that the President is not disgraced at home while Mrs. Jonathan is turning the entire state against the governor. There must be protest votes if these things continue", he said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Also, Ijaw youths from the state argued that the suspension of the chairman was ill-timed and capable of affecting the chances of the President at the poll.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Youths, drawn from the eight local government areas in the state, said the allegations of financial impropriety against the chairman were diversionary.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The youths under the aegis of Niger Delta United for Jonathan (NDUJ) said it was unfortunate that the president and Allison-Madueke were being dragged into the financial scandal.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
NDUJ, in a statement in Yenagoa signed by its Secretary, Azibaayam Iborisi, and Public Relations Officer, Ebimiewei Timi, insisted that the decision of the State Executive Committee (SEC) was questionable.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The statement said: "It is particularly worrisome that those orchestrating the crisis behind the scene have decided to drag the good name of the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, and the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Deziani Allison-Madueke, into the crisis of confidence between the state governor and the presidency.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"Considering that the said rally was meant to galvanise the home base of President Goodluck Jonathan, the idea of igniting a controversy over a donation less than a week after the rally is clearly a deliberate act of sabotage and a disservice to the people of the state.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"It is, however, instructive that while those claiming to have suspended the chairman are alleging sharp practices with the said donation, the embattled chairman claims his woes are as a result of his refusal to do Governor Seriake Dickson’s bidding to suspend certain highly placed party men, perceived to be loyal to Mrs. Patience Jonathan from the PDP at the state level for alleged anti-party.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"The question is why the hurry to suspend the chairman, knowing fully well that it is less than five weeks to the presidential election and the party needs to keep a united front, a call Mr. President himself made in his speech at the rally."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The group added: "We are convinced that it is a deliberate ploy to drag innocent and respectable Bayelsans into the fray, considering that the many attempts at maligning the first Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has not yielded the desired results.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"We therefore advise the Bayelsa PDP SEC members and their sponsor, Governor Seriake Dickson, to desist from further calling the innocent woman’s name in his bid to bring on board a pliable man as party chairman and also tender a public apology to the Honourable Minister for their indiscretion".</div>

<b>The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has replied the Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, on allegation that the commission was intentionally preventing intending voters from claiming their permanent voters’ cards.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Fani-Kayode had, at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, claimed that the PVCs were still in China, where they were produced, and had yet to be imported to Nigeria.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
