<b>An activist from the feminist group '<i>Femen'</i> bared her breasts in St Peter’s Square on Christmas Day and rushed the Nativity scene, grabbing the Baby Jesus figurine.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A Vatican police officer wearing a black cape was quick to arrest the blonde activist and wrest the figurine away from her.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The words “God Is Woman” were daubed in large letters on her chest.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although the incident occurred well after Pope Francis delivered his Christmas message from the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica, thousands of pilgrims were still in the famous square.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Femen</i> has staged similar stunts at the Vatican, such as a protest last month over an imminent visit by the pope to the European Parliament.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The three <i>Femen</i> members were wearing only leather mini-skirts and flower garlands in their hair, and one had the slogan “Pope is not a politician” emblazoned across her chest.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On November 24, the day before the pope’s visit, a topless <i>Femen</i> activist mounted the altar of the Strasbourg cathedral.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The movement that began in Ukraine to protest the former pro-Kremlin regime also opposes the Catholic Church’s positions against abortion and gay marriage.</div>

<b>As Nigerians across the country joined other christians worldwide to celebrate Christmas in a joyous mood, residents of Oke Ibukun Street, off Araromi, in Akure, the Ondo State capital could not be said to be happy with the celebration following a sad fire incident in the area that consumed a life, reports <i>Oluwole Josiah</i> of the <i>Punch</i> newspapers. Below is his account of the sad event:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
They woke up to a raging fire that razed a clinic, Universal Medical Clinic (Specialist Children Clinic), and killed the owner of the clinic, Dr. David Oguntuase.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our correspondent gathered that the fire began at about 12.30am on Thursday. Nobody could, however, determine the cause of the fire.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sympathisers could not hold back their tears as they watched the remains of the victim which were burnt beyond recognition.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was learnt that the doctor worked as a Consultant Paediatrician at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo, while he maintained a private clinic in Akure.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Some residents were said to have made frantic efforts to rescue the doctor by getting the state firefighters to the scene. The efforts, however, failed, as none of the firefighters came to the scene in spite of the calls made to them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A resident, Ajayi Olorunlogbon, explained that but for the efforts of neighbors around, the fire could have spread to other houses.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He said, “The incident occurred at midnight and I heard people shouting, ‘fire, fire.’ I quickly call ed other residents on the street.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“We mobilised and looked for ways to douse the fire, but all efforts proved abortive as the gate leading to the clinic was already locked. We had to eventually break it down to save the situation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“We immediately called firefighters, but they told us there was no vehicle.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the nurses, who saw Oguntuase on Wednesday after her day’s duty, told journalists that she was devastated at the news of his death.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She said, “We can’t state what exactly caused the tragic incident because all of us (nurses) had gone home when it occurred. All we can say is that the doctor came into the hospital and cracked jokes with us about Christmas and later told us to go home for a happy celebration.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“Before we all left, he instructed us to lock all the windows and doors, which we did. We never knew this would happen. It is very sad.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She added that the clinic had discharged all the patients because of the Christmas holiday.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A resident on the street, Temitope Adelani, said initially, no one knew the doctor was inside the building at the time of the fire because his vehicle was on the premises.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“We never knew the doctor was inside the building because he did not park his vehicle outside. It was when we were making efforts to put out the fire that we realised the doctor had died in the fire,” he said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He also said during the rescue effort, a gas cylinder in the house exploded, adding that there was no public power supply and no generator was on at the time of the fire.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Officers of the state fire service could not be reached, but the Police Public Relations Officer, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident, adding that the police had started an investigation into the cause of the fire.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He said, “The doctor was consumed in an inferno in his clinic and we have commenced our investigation. His corpse has been taken to the morgue.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ogodo added that the wife of the late doctor, Wuraola, reported the incident at the A-Division Police Station in Akure.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b>The protest organized by #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) movement was stopped by police in Abuja, yesterday, December 25.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
About 20 police officers blocked the Shehu Shagari Way, Abuja, with their vehicles at the junction to the Presidential Villa, as activists shared fliers to motorists to remind them of the fate of the 219 Chibok girls still in Boko Haram captivity. The barricade enraged some of the protesters.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The movement members had firstly walked to the National Assembly gate where they criticized the legislators for proceeding on Christmas holidays while the kidnapped girls are suffering in captivity.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oby Ezekwesili, one of the co-coordinators of the group, said: “The lawmakers should be ashamed of  themselves for going on break while the Chibok girls are with wicked men in the bush.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After that the campaigners walked towards the Presidential Villa junction, the policemen in four vehicles quickly drove to the junction and blocked it, to stop the people from heading that way.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This enraged the BBOG protestors, but the activists were not discontinued as they distributed out fliers to motorists.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The BBOG members asked questions about the billions of naira raised for the victims of insurgency in the country through the Victim Support Fund, mentioning that the money was not being used to enrich the sufferings of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and other victims of the terrorism.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A member, Bukky Shonibare, stated that 98 per cent of the IDPs are not living in government but with private families.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She explained that the displaced persons were suffering, adding that most of them lacked food, shelter and clothing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today is the 256th day since more than 200 Chibok schoolgirls were kidnapped by Boko Haram militants in Borno state on April 14-15, 2014.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Despite of claims that the Federal Government and terrorists signed a ceasefire agreement in October, the Islamist group’s leader, Shekau, ruled out future talks with the Nigerian government, said the abducted schoolgirls would not be returned.</div>

Reuben Abati: Nigeria’s Most Evil Genius? - By Dr. Peregrino Brimah

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>This article, written by Dr. Peregrino Brimah, was published on 23rd July, 2014</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nothing is more dangerous than when a good man goes rogue. Most of the worst criminals in history were good men in society who either voluntarily or by virtue of circumstance, went rogue. We all know the award winning, chairman of the editorial board of the <i>Nigerian Guardian</i>, Dr Reuben Abati, our guy, a staunch truth shooter and government critic bar none. But when Reuben was sucked into the Jonathan Government, Lord have mercy!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One can only imagine what Reuben is up to today: conspiring, orchestrating, plotting and conniving. There is nowhere where you will not find Reuben or pick his dangerous scent. Reuben works between party lines, he sneaks up on activists, media editors; selling his paymasters’ wares in the last places you expect. If you are an activist or politician, you will know precisely what I am talking about. If the unbelievable story can be written, Reuben wrote it; if the unimaginable can be invented and spun, Reuben spun it. If it can be blown-up, Reuben is blowing it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To get a clearer picture of the danger of this man, one simply has to think back and review the post election events of Nigeria, 2011. We all have it somewhere in our minds that former Head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari threatened something about making Nigeria ungovernable after he lost in 2011… and some other stuff like that? If we do, Reuben spun that. This libel was pretty much entirely cooked up by Reuben Abati to discredit the person of Gen. Buhari who was legitimately contesting the election process in 2011. This was the copyright invention of Reuben in that evil memo he spun one dark midnight in April of 2011, the Reuben memo: <b>‘For the attention of General Buhari’.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The evidence of this is the reality that Buhari took Reuben Abati and the <i>Guardian</i> he used to edit to court and Reuben begged and settled out of court. Reuben and his <i>Guardian</i> quietly published a retraction of the slanderous and libelous charges against the person of Buhari, as quoted below in the <i>Guardian</i> of July, 2013; but few read it and the damage was already done. Buhari would remain tainted till the day he dies, thanks to a very sinister, evil genius Reuben.</div>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
<b>GUARDIAN  Re: For the attention of General Buhari</b><br /><i>Thursday, 11 July 2013 00:00 Editor</i></blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
SIR: “On April 22, 2011, The Guardian Newspaper published an article on page 51 titled <b>“For the attention of General Buhari”</b> wherein certain allegations were made against General Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged role in the violence emanating from the elections.</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
The publication was based on information which we believed to be reliable at that time. Since the publication, however, we now have reason to believe that certain parts of the story were not verified to be correct before the publication.</blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq" style="text-align: justify;">
We assure General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) GCFR of our highest esteem and regret any distress or embarrassment which the said publication may have caused him.”</blockquote>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In our March 15th article, <b><a href="http://ends.ng/now-that-nigeria-is-ungovernable-what-next/">‘Now that Nigeria is ungovernable, what next?’</a></b> we examined all available public evidence of statements credited with the ‘ungovernable’ threat. There is no link. Buhari only warned of consequences for similar rigging and malpractice as occurred in 2011 if it was repeated in 2015. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, unlike bad news and slander, this apology hardly spread past the 20,000 copies it was printed on and was hardly read or re-visited more than 24 hours after it was published. Reuben Abati had done his worst and a perhaps too gentle soldier, Buhari made little noise to repair his image after the out-of court settlement.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Talk about plain evil that continues to pollute; sin upon sin for the slanderer. Even a recent conservative ‘Tory tradition,’ Anglican group, the Bow Group, recently sponsored a report making reference to these imaginary inventions of Reuben. To no surprise, the report by a certain Zenn failed to reference the spurious allegations – because there simply is none. To attribute animal to Reuben’s ethos, the serpent is his perfect fit.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At this time in Nigeria’s history, as bombs and snipers start to target public cleric critics of this administration and opposition politicians, and millions out of stolen billions ($) are used to create chaos in every state and between families, one must keep an eye on the evil genius and the chartered opinion machines, #SomeoneTellLEVICK anyone, who are spending our nation’s billions in expensive media propaganda, like the forward  <b><a href="https://www.facebook.com/positivenig?ref_type=bookmark">Positive Nigeria</a></b> social media campaign and other powerfully sponsored campaigns popping up all of a sudden. These people are dangerous, to say the least!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Be alert and shine your eye.</div>

<b>Former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said he will not have an office for the first lady if he is elected into power in the forthcoming 2015 elections.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Giving his reason, Buhari said there is no office of the first lady in the Nigerian constitution and there is no official role for presidents’ wives.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He disclosed this during an exclusive interview with <i>Weekly Trust</i> in Kaduna.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
According to him, there are ministries which are constitutional like the Ministry of Women Affairs and they should be allowed to play their roles.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He added that women would however play an important role in his administration as he knows what they can do if given an opportunity.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"I was raised by my mother, as I lost my father when I was under six years, so I know what a woman can do if given the chance," Buhari said.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He explained that he had the greatest respect for women.</div>
