After results from 18 States and the FCT were officially announced at the National Collation Center in Abuja, General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress has taken the lead with over 2 million votes.
Buhari has so far polled 8,520,439 votes to lead incumbent president Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP who has polled 6,488,211 votes.
From this result, President Jonathan did not make the required 25% in 3 states while General Buhari was unable to achieve 25% in polls cast in 5 states.
So far Mr Jonathan has won in Ekiti, Enugu, FCT, Nasarawa, Anambra, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Imo and Plateau states.
On the other hand, Mr Buhari is the winner in Ogun, Kogi, Osun, Ondo, Oyo, Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Kwara and Kaduna states.
