Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has unveiled a female running mate to jointly fly the flag of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forthcoming February, 2015 gubernatorial election in the state.
She is, Mrs. Yetunde Abosede Onanuga, nee Fabanwo.
Mrs Omanuga hails from Aparaki in Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North local government area of the state in the Ogun East Senatorial district and married to Mr. Giwa Onanuga from Ijebu- ode.
She holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from Lagos State Institute of Science and Technology, and a Master Degree in Business Administration from the Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye.
The incumbent Deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun has dumped the ruling APC and joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) following irreconcilable differences between the governor's faction of the APC and another faction loyal to a former governor of the State, Aremo Segun Osoba.
Osoba led his loyalists to the SDP after it was clear his differences with the Governor could not be settled amicably. Adesegun, on joining the SDP, has declared his intention to contest the governorship election against his (former) boss.
Until her announcement as Governor Amosun's running mate for next year election, Mrs. Onanuga was a Director of Finance and Administration in Lagos State.
In a remark, the Deputy Governorship candidate thanked all for the acceptance and pledge to be faithful, loyal and honest in the discharge of her duty to the state and the party at large.
She also assured that her loyalty to the Governor of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun should not be in doubt as she will exhibit a high sense of loyalty to the Governor.
Mrs. Onanuga, aged 54, is a christian.
