The State Secretary of the party, Sunday Oginni, confirmed the incident to City People, describing it as a loss.

"The party lost six grass roots politicians to the accident. The accident is a setback to us as a party because the people that lost their lives were very active party leaders who we used as field soldiers for our campaign," Sunday Oguini bemoaned the accident.
