Governor Muktar Yero of Kaduna State on Wednesday dissolved the State Executive Council and terminated the appointment of all other political appointees in the state.

Yero announced the decision during a valedictory session of the executive council in Kaduna.

He also directed all political appointees in the state to immediately hand over the affairs of their ministries, parastatals and agencies to their immediate subordinates.

The governor expressed appreciation to the people of the state for the opportunity given him to serve them.

Yero urged the people to make the necessary sacrifices for the incoming administration to succeed.

He urged the residents to eschew "politics of bitterness" and strive to collectively work for the betterment of the state.

The governor prayed for the progress of the state and sought forgiveness from the people for the wrongs he might have committed while in office.

NAN reports that at the valedictory session, all the commissioners, Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service and Chief of Staff took turns to express their appreciation for the chance to serve the people of the state.

They also described the governor as a humble and God fearing leader who did his best for the state.
