The UK Daily Mail has clarified and retracted a story it published about the shutting down of an Anambra restaurant over police discovery it was cooking and serving human flesh.
The retraction became necessary after BBC Swahili, the source of the controversial news, had confirmed that the story was incorrect.
The Nigeria police had denied the report immediately the BBC published it saying no restaurant was shut down for cooking and serving human flesh anywhere in Nigeria.
We, at TNN, also apologise for publishing the story.
