We can confirm that the defacing of the Nigerian Defence Headquarters’ website done in an ISIS-style on January 23 was carried out by an Indonesian Hacker with the pseudonym Maniak K4sur.
K4sur’s handle has been responsible for the hacking and defacement of the official websites of Fairfield Police Department, NJ and Jasper County Police, IN websites in the United States 21st November, and 15th November 2013 respectively. He was also linked with the hacking of 8 NASA websites in the US.
Confirming the hack, Nigeria’s Defence Spokesperson Gen. Chris Olukolade, said via his twitter handle:
Yes. Our website has been defaced. There's an ISIS style attempt to hack into Government Platforms. Our provider, @Galaxybackbone is on it.

He also later revealed that the website has been reclaimed from the hackers and situation has been put under control.

A twitter handle corroborated the claim that K4sur is a terrible hacker saying he had defaced 8 NASA websites in the past:

Earlier, a controversial twitter handle [@imamsadiq123] had claimed responsibility for defacing the Defence Headquarters official website. Imam Sadiq had tweeted these minutes after the DHQ site was hacked:
