The leadership of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) this morning paid a courtesy visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Hilltop Mansion in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The APC Presidential Campaign Team is in Abeokuta for the Ogun State presidential rally.
It will be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan and his campaign team were also in Abeokuta yesterday to solicit the support of Ogun State electorate.
The President was scheduled to visit Obasanjo before the kick-off of his campaign yesterday, but the former president reportedly sneaked out of his Hilltop Mansion to avoid meeting Jonathan and his campaign team.
The former president, however, held a secret meeting with the president late last night in the presence of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the RCCG; and Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners Chapel. Both clergymen were present at the meeting with Jonathan on Obasanjo's instance.
Obasanjo was reported to have insisted that he would not host Jonathan except he came along with a prominent Nigerian.
The trio of Obasanjo, Adeboye and Oyedepo attended the President's daughter's marriage ceremony in Abuja on Saturday.
