A report monitored on Nigerian Tribune says President Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday, met with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), some governors and leaders of the House of Representatives on the defection of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, no official statement was released after the meeting, which ostensibly deliberated on how the party may react to the defection of the speaker elected under PDP.
Those present at the meeting included the national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu; chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum and Akwa-Ibom State governor, Godswill Akpabio; governors of Bayelsa, Benue, Gombe, and Enugu, Henry Seriake-Dickson, Gabriel Suswam, Ibrahim Dankwambo, and Sullivan Chime, respectively.
Also in attendance were the Deputy Speaker of the House, Honourable Emeka Ihedioha; the Deputy Leader of the House, Honourable Leo Ogor; chairman, House Committee on Health, Ndudi Elumelu and the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, among others.
